You gotta admit it's better than chewing a finger off your boat.

Another topic. What is the psychology behind the current fad of companies showing their same obnoxious ads twice in a row on TV, or maybe with one other ad in between?

Yuk.
Just out of curiosity, where did you get these pieces? Were they in a commercially produced kit?
I work with a laser cutter professionally and cut up lots of wood. Sooty pieces are unacceptable for client work.

Sometimes if I'm in a hurry making something for myself I'll crank up the heat to cut material faster. The edges get darker but soot is still not acceptable.

The damage to the plank, or the damage to your thumb?

420TEE, My thoughts are that they're hoping to drill it into your head, like saturation bombing---.

But yeah, the ads are usually annoying even the first time around---.

And almost always at suppertime---.

Just one of many reasons I don't watch TV.

Its even worse in China with repeats of 10-15 sec spots repeated ad nauseum.

It seems the recently enacted TV commercial volume laws are being roundly ignored. There is a site to complain I think but if it's anything like trying to report No-Call violations like the "Free Burglar Alarm You've Won" I just got forget about it. In typical gumment fashion they make it so complicated and you need so much info it's not worth the trouble.

So Tee you expected something better from the gummint? You should know better than to expect idiots to do anything right. This is the same gummint that couldn't run the Mustang Ranch out in Nevada. Remember that? Pete

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA! It did too when the US government took it over. All they had to do was sell booze and women and they couldn't even do that right. Pete

Actually the Mustang Ranch was run at a profit for five years. Congress made them get rid of it, they decided that the United States only needed ONE whorehouse at a time and the one in Washington D.C. was enough.

P.S. The furnishings and building (including the sign) were sold at a profit also.
