Mega 1615/5 C-8 Prop Selection

Tomorrow is the day! My new 8 is ready with a 7x5 prop. Motocalc indicates an 8x4 might be a better choice for maiden since
more thrust. I bought a Whattmeter but dont have it yet so all estimated.

Somebody please help me out with a quick reply prop suggestion.

Brushless new to me and I would sure appreciate a Tip from the Top from one of you guys thats been there.

Standing by..........................and Thanks

Wolfman,

I'm not sure what a C-8 is, but I use the Mega 1615/5, 7x5 prop on 8x800AR cells in a fast 36" aerobat. At 21oz AUW the performance is in the lively/spectacular category.

Just make sure that your cells are good for 18A at full throttle, but this will drop dramatically in the air.

Good luck!

Mega 16/15/5...props..

Sir,I think C-8 means Crazy 8...and the 7-5 prop should really make it fast...then check the amp draw when your Wattmeter arrives.Has anyone used a gearbox with this MEGA..??This 5 wind is probly more capable of different applications than others...

Hey Guys! Thanks for the tips. Right, this is the Wattage Crazy 8 and I used the 7x5 prop. WOW! Spectacular is right. Clearly the fastest plane I have flown. Found out quick my throws were far too much even at the lowest arm/horn settings. Next flight will be with my 6ch.tx with end point adjustments. This planes begs for a computer radio. I too am looking at gearboxes to fit this motor. HL catalog doesnt show which boxes accept a the 3.2mm shaft. Maybe somebody can give us a part number. That would be great!
