JPower/Bananahobby twin 50mm EDF A-10 w/electric retracts. ;)

Check THIS out! I'm excited as hell, and this picture shows why. I've been waiting for a twin JPower 50mm A-10 WITH electric retracts (that's right, it has electric retracts). Well, at the bananahobby booth at the AMA expo, I saw this:

They may come out some time next month or so. Thanks Pete for letting me check out the jets, and shooting the breeze with you for awhile. It was also great to see other rcgroups members there like Ed, and Hbsurfer. See you at the field man.

Are those retracts standard with the plane? While I still prefer the simplicity of handlaunching, I might be able to live with this. Just hope all of this doesn't bump the price up too much. The planes thus far has been extremely economical.

Retracts would be nice if they hold up and the weight doesn't make the plane a pig.

The plane does feel a bit heavier with the electric retracts. In regards to longevity of the retracts, the struts seemed very stout and could easily handle the weight. I plan on putting two dons wicked motors with Wemo fans on 4S in this thing. They are supposed under $120+\- a few bucks if I remember correctly what Pete and his family said. That's a darn good price reciever ready.

Wow, very cool addition for the A-10 fans!

While I enjoy seeing all the larger A-10s that have come out, I just don't have the space for those. This 50mm sized A-10 should be perfect--about the same size as my trusty GWS A-10.

Hope it comes in different schemes too!!

I've owned and flown two of their 64mm versions. The first one I upgraded retracts with air and parralleled two 3S 25Cs. Unfortunately, lost orientation on it in a gray cloudy day (plane was gray too) inverted and crashed it at high speed into a barbed wire fence...spectacular foam explosion! My second one just crashed today...suspect signal brownout. With my second, I upgraded retracts with metal gear servos until I switched to electric retracts using stock struts and wheels. For second plane I was using single 3S 40C. On either battery setup there was still mucho gusto power on the stock motors...weight was no issue at all. As a matter of fact I had to had weight to balance CG. May have to look at this one as I need another a-10.

Hopefully, the spinner on those warbirds will be changable to something a tad bit more scale. Control horns on top are a plus.

I never leave the motor stock anyway. So I will change that first thing more than likely...LOL

Haha, yeah, I have a feeling Don is going to get some more business with this jet. I already have him in mind for a twin wicked 4S set-up on this A-10.

When I picked it up and saw electric retracts with a gear dot on it, I couple believe it.

That's true. I've been reading that you have had awesome results with those fans/motors on 4S. This should be a fun little jet.

I am getting 430 watts with the Himax in my F-16. A little over 400watts in my Mig-15 without a thrust tube on 4s which will most likely be what I would get per side on the A-10....WOO HOO!!
