Dumas Chris Craft Commander Build

Hey everyone,

I bought a Dumas Chris Craft Commander and I'll post some pictures as I go along. This is my second model after the Sterling Mahogany Runabout that I posted a while back. I should be able to get a solid start on the model over the next week, but then it's back to school. Luckily I'll be living at home over the summer so I will have plenty of time to work on it starting in May.

Here's a picture of the box. I also bought the power and running hardware package from MACK so I'll be ready to install the drive shafts and all that good stuff when the time comes. This should be a really fun boat to build and I think it will go fairly smoothly considering all of the experience I got with the Sterling runabout.

If you have pictures of a Dumas Commander, post them!

-Kyle

I'll be watching your build with interest! I have admired this kit for a long while and wondered what it would be like to build.

cool...I see it's 1:12 scale...that means all the dollhouse stuff will accessorize it....lots of fun adding in all the details.

Keep us posted.

Previous Build

To help you along, here is a previous build from the start to the water. It is really neat, because the builder opened up the windows in the cabin (they are recessed, but closed and painted black as designed by Dumas) and added the optional flying bridge (optional on the real boat, not the kit).

Look forward to seeing your progress
