ME-262 fan installation

What I did was clean up the inlet lip to be flat on the inside of the nacelle. I cut the flanges off the mini-fan unit and slipped in the nacelle at the wing mount area. Once I was happy with the way the fan unit sat on the lip. I used wooden glue sticks with double stick tape to keep fan aligned. I glue the fan unit to the lip with Zap-A-Dap-A-Do. Remove any excess glue from inside of fan. After the cured I poured a small amount of two part foam around the fan/nacelle joint. This expanded and locked the fan in place. Used this method in a number of other jets with great success. E-mail me with any other questions.

The plane is a LEAD SLED ! I also used double sided tape to secure the fans and tried to clean the intake lip , its a DOG with retracks, perhaps it is better without LG. I ve used varrious cell counts and size all flights are Short, best flights achived with a "kluge" catapult . when you acheive take off speed
it jumps off (nose hi almost like a stall) max power is needed at all times. motors 1114's, kont.controller :

Very interesting...

I plan to power mine with 2 Aveox 1114, 2 Kontronik Smile 40-6-18, and 2 10-11 cell packs of 2400/3000s. What do you think of this power set-up? Would it be better to just use one sensorless controller (w/ a 70-amp rating) and 1 11-12-cell pack for the interest of weight saving?

I guess I'll have to give up the landing gear idea...

Thank you Mr. Bob Ruff and Uncljoe. I may have to e-mail you directly for some more questions.

ME-262

Powering mine with 2 each Astro 05 sensorless with Kontronic 3SL-40-6-18 using 12 CP1300 per motor (24 total). This provides 32,000 RPM and 20 AMP current draw. Also using fixed landing, saves about 14 oz in weight.

I used a single Kontronic 70-6-18 controller along with 2 1114
Bob Ruffs 262 is the way to go with fixed gear the weight saving
should make for MUCH Longer flights & more relaxing.

Uncljoe, You describe the Hobbyland 262 as a lead sled. What is the weight of yours, with the retracts? Thanks, Paul

Hello,
my 262 is the same size, but built with wood. It has 8RC2400zapped an 2 MF480 working with Plettis 200/20/5.
I talked with an other owner and he said that flying with 10 cells (with a 200/20/6 setup) makes the plane critical in flight.
