My slats so far, first picture is closed, second is extended, and last picture shows what its like with wings under load.

Its still naked and im making the inserts out of pink foam to fill, the slats themselves will have a thin sheet of balsa extension to finish it off. Other than that im happy so far

I still have to work on the other wing....then make the spoilers and flaps.

The thrust reversers are going to be the suprise once I finish the plane

Its just balsa on rails lol. Pretty sturdy so I doubt it'll collapse when working. There will be 1 servo under the wing that will push/pull

Hi hi2nr, looks like your slats only slides out not out and down. Is that correct? Nice job in any case.

In the picture it slides out only, the rails are being made now to give it the out downward motion and will replace the mock up rails. I rigged up the rails to test the wing flexing and if there will be any failures of the slat from flexing

It should or will come very close to the real deal

I think my main concern is that since air is air and it does change scale like your scale model would so deploying the slats during final would cause a stall or no?

slats are lift devices and help delay stall's , what I would worry
about is the wing flex's and one jam's and one extends , it could
cause loss of control?

I doubt it'll jam up, they're all linked together underneath

I was looking at your photo's of your leading edge slats,
I'm not sure they will help , looks more like they may do the
oppsite.

I think those are Krueger flaps, I'll be adding those to the inboard soon

As for the slats I'm trying to achieve these:

Yes - but if this photo of yours is the extended slats .the big
gap between the wing and leading edge won't add lift

I'm still making the inserts out of foam to fill the gap and complete the foil. It should also serve as a flat surface for the slats trailing edge to slide on

1st picture closed, second picture extended

its just a mockup and not completed yet but once i make the inserts for the airfoil and finish the rails for the slats to drop downwards itll be extremely close to the real deal

Instead of carving this probe out of foam, I decided to take an old foam wheel ( since it was black foam) and carve from it instead. Came out nice I think. Not exactly scale but nor was I trying to achieve a scale look.
