I just ran out of the dark brown for the tail.
I should get it next week.
Once I cover the rest of the tail I will post some pictures.

Does anyone still have the outer cardboard box?
If you do, could someone tell me the box dimensions? From memory they are printed somewhere on it.
Thanks in advance,
Paul

Thanks Neil, I've been on business travel, left right after my last post and just got back in yesterday. The maiden prep continues! not sure where I shall accomplish flight testing yet as I'm now a bit hesitant to fly off the grass. Cheers!

As I mention in a earlier post I am going with the UPS design.
I got some dark brown vinyl from a sign maker here locally.
The brown he gave me was a Scotchcal #220 for the rudder.
Geeez I can't believe what a difference it is using a better quality vinyl.
SO manageable and plyable.
Any wrinkles were easily rubbed out and the adhesive was much better.
The vinyl just stuck better to the curves than the cheaper vinyl did..
I would defenditley use a better quality material on the next one.

This is quite interesting Hoss! Based on your experience with both, the scotchcal seems to be the better quality vinyl. Very good to know this for my next build.

Cheers!

Ryanair 737 update

Hi all,
Thanks for the kind comments, took 3 months to get to this stage with many mishaps on the way. One of the worst was the masking tape getting saturated with paint and seaping through.... Also. to start with, I covered the plane in the wrong polyfilla which ended up covering the plane in a heavy rock like material. Took me a month to chisel off leaving a rough skin. Back to square one I got the correct filler and spent months sanding and coating. Then WBPU and tissue, sanding (I hate sanding now) followed by acrylic paints and graphics from the famous callie graphics. More fine paint detailing to be done with a small paint brush as you can see from some of the pictures. Just finished LED install.

It is the c-sun 10 blade fans. Any body with any experience in these? I haven't sealed up the engines and added a yellow stripe there which I need to do yet as Im not sure if these are going to need balanced? This is next on the test list. I also have some detailed and scale intake warning stickers for the engine pods to be added once sealed :-)

I am having trouble setting up new ESCs i got, no instructions nor can I find any on line for them

As for video flying, yikes this is the scary bit. Think I will get a large scale pro to maiden for me, after all this work I'm afraid to fly it! but I just want a video myself now of this baby in the air. Anybody know what the heaviest one of these is that has flown?

Some more update pics:

haha thanks Hoss.

The real nightmare of the paint job was that the under blue side slants at an angle, getting both sides to match took 2 days! Other issues I came a cross may be of help to others: Do wing wire installs like servos / leds before adding the engine pods. I covered the plane with this http://www.poly-c.com/ and it is great. Paints on and leaves a hard shiny shell. I have to try very hard now to make test inflicted hangar rash. Sealed the stickers down smoothly too. Another coat to go and then I will polish it up. You simply cannot tell its foam underneath now, zero trace of it.

Nice Job - i have the CS 10 blade fans - but which motors
are you using ? and for esc's which one's did you get ?
if you have the correct motors and esc they work fine
with this - also what the RTF weight ?

the model it self is easy to flt , but a lot of people have others
maiden and trim there new models.

Hey Pulsery,
For motors, I have the standard scorpion 3600kv motor and 3200 3s x 2 batteries and "Fly Fly Hobbey" 60A ESC. Im not sure if this is what I need, I have been flying nitro and this is first battery setup so Im a bit clueless on it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Still to weigh the plane once I complete the installs of the power set up.

Did you need to balance you 10 blades or where the ok from new?

well your using a diffrent set up that mine - I'm running 4 S
what you have sounds like the setup for the standard cs edf's
that ming sold with the kit .

CS 10 blade draw more amps so to check your system
you would need a watt meter
example:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...up_Ver_2_.html

this is used to test your set up now many amps / watts your using .
I do each fan/esc then both together - you mentioned 60 amp
esc's if you drawing more than 52-55 amps you may overheat
and burn the esc out .

balance ,i did mine but they were close , running the fan and adding
power slowly you will see/hear if they are out of balance

going from nitro to electric is a learning curve
