I am confident you have the first RC 737 in the southern hemisphere with operational spoilers (that's really quite the pick up line...well, it works in the northern hemisphere).

Indeed, the low nose at rest is a characteristic of all 737's right from the prototype through to the latest nexgen 900, makes for a real menacing look when she accelerates on her take off role but takes a little getting used to in my opinion when at rest.

Thanks Doug and Derek and congrats on your maiden btw!

Again I have to confess I have copied more great ideas from this thread. I have recessed the nosewheel slightly and raked it forward slightly to enable it to fully sit within the nose wheel well, similar to Doug and Spyro. This allows the nose gear doors to close properly.

Secondly, this also gives the model a slightly nose down attitude which replicates the full scale stance. It is only slight and shouldn't affect takeoff too much...... Hopefully anyway.

Thanks for the tip on the spar for the nosewheel too.

Fowler flaps

Still needs a little bit more work but they'll function in the air. Spoilers are already mocked up and ready to deploy...while im at it i could buy linear servos to make leading edge slats :P

Impressive- underside view? Are you using two servos for actuation?

It does lower the AOA and contributes to a long take off roll and the likelihood of a climb that is a bit steeper than desired when you give the "up" elevator to break it loose off the tarmac! Makes it a bit easier to stall on take off. Just have to be prepared for it.

Well I just have to share this with you guys.

I have now earned the title Bc.Sc. Mech. Eng with a double major in Innovation and product design, and in Intelligent mechanisms/mechanics...

To think that I have done this at the ripe age of 30 years old with 2 kids and a wife and then on top of that, then this incredible hobby which also takes up a lot of time, then I keep wondering about how on earth I managed to get this degree.

On top of all this, then I ended up with 4 job offers before I even had gone to examination of my bachelors project(Thesis):-)

I am now employed in a company that will send me to Ming-land in the near future if I want to.

Ok, you've got me stumped...can you take the canoes off so I can see what is going on inside? And where the heck are your three servos that are operating the flaps??

And, it would appear you have spring loaded the canoes to move freely during actuation but return to flush when flaps retracted. I am VERY impressed.

The servos recess inside the wings which is hidden by the foam, the hinge system is taking your concept and offsetting to fit another set inside also for the 2nd flap to pivot in the fowler motion.

I still need to add a carbon tube or metal tube with a metal wire to keep the center flaps from folding back up under deflection in order to make this functional.

I'll post pictures of the right wing once I get started so you can see the insides but here's a video of how the hinge pivot. ( I was impressed with how it looked)

Very impressive hin2r!

I put the plane together to see how much "nose down" it will have after modding the nose wheel well. It turns out there is hardly any.

It doesn't, it only looks that way but they don't extend any further than the engine cowling

I had a feeling you might have just added another Dubro razor control horn set to do that- very nice improvement to the concept.
