Thank you for the video! I am thinking of using 00 Silk Span (12g/sq.m.) for poly-glassing. Is there a difference between tissue and a Silk Span?

Yes, 4S. The current should be within 35A at 3020Kv. With this setup motors will run at their maximum efficiency pulling 450W each. Will do the test this week.

No I have used certain gift and craft tissue with good results.
on some model's I use more than one grade on my Gws A-10
I used the lighter on the curved surfaces and the hearvier
on the fuse and the wing's

The GWS A-10 had problem's with wing flexing and breaking
but with the tissue and polcrylic the wing has almost no flex
and after many flights and some wild flying no problems.

even though the A-10 is polyglassed it's RTF weight is
only 17-18 oz

I very well couldve been on that flight.I was sposed to leave PCS for NAS Key West somtime after the 1st of the year. Fortunately my Navy detailer cut my PCS orders early so I could make it home for Xmas.Otherwise....

The basics of foam finishing technique I got from this thread:

The steps are:
- Two layers of lightweight spackling with 600 grit sanding
- Two layers of WBPU with 800 grit sanding
- Acrylic primer (optional)
- Acrylic paint
- Two layers of high gloss WBPU with 1200 grit sanding

On that picture it is shinny because WBPU is wet. It's the second layer. When dry it is flat but silky smooth.

There is an unexpected problem... even after two layers of spackling and WBPU there are still some pinholes left. I am thinking of altering this technique by adding one layer of 00 silk span (12g/sq.m.) after spackling. This will take care of any pinholes.

As far as weight so far I added 2 gram to the tail section. Pretty much nothing. It it somewhat time consuming process but very relaxing and rewarding.

She look gorgeous! Amazing work! How did you manage to preserve groove lines with covering? I am filling all of them.

on the fuse I filled them, but on the wing the leading edge is done in
a very light tissue and the center in the thickest.

its a good exemple as it shows that with the light tissue you can
keep all the detail you want.
