I love HK, but some people are not sold on them yet.

Do you think the Orange rx's are safe to use in our models?

Everyone said the same thing about HK servos and batteries a few years ago "I am not trusting my beloved model to a $10 battery" and now everyone uses HK batteries. I am wondering if the Orange rx's are just as good...

Orange Rx are good when you use DSM2 transmitter. If you have DSMX - wait for the HH fix first. There is a glitch in Tx module that makes 6100/6250 loose connection during the flight.

I just wish HK China would stock them at USA WH!! I have a couple of nano 4S4500's, and they are great. Maybe when their stock of non nano's are further reduced, we'll see them at USA WH???

If they stock nano-tech's who would absorb old generation surplus stock? Nano-tech's are in high demand and HK having hard time supplying them, hence the "back order" status almost all the time. I agree, it would be very nice to have them nearby.

Yea, with all these newer and newer batteries coming out I kinda expect to see some exponential discounts on old $70 25c 3s 2200 TP packs...

The decision for using a $4.99 receiver clone in >500$ model should be carefully considered in my opinion. There are some area's I refuse to give in when it comes to reliability. I will always make use of good quality servo's and brand receivers.

The discussions around batteries were always misplaced in my opinion as there only 3-4 places where you can source Lipo's. The nano batteries come from the same place Hyperion sources it's batteries so we can assume that they are close to the same quality. I prefer Hyperion for warranty purposes and their ability to provide higher burst rates in certain applications. For flying the 737 the nano's will do very well.

I don't Fly 2.4 my radio is both , I like the 72, but my brother has
spektrum and uses the hobby king orange recivers, they seem to work fine
but HK in in struction point's out they are park flyer recivers.
so I would not condiser this a park flyer. and the orange
hk recivers aren't ment for this.

lipo's the nano teck are better , but I also tested them for
the maker and althought they are better they two will lose there
ability to produce there full C rating over time ( not by cycles as much)
and thought they are not as likely to have a cell go bad this
has also happened to some of the test packs .

the nano teck's were taken thru 100 full c cycles and results looked
very good
the first test used 6 diffrent brands of the same 2200 20 c lipo's
and only 2 made it through 100 cycles , four packs failed and
some quite quickly .

I also only use Top Quality radio gear. My best radio will be in my 737: Airtronix RD8000 Radio 70mhz, and my Futabe FASST 2.4 in my A380.

I have found a great little radio for my cheep planes. It's an Airtronix Aero Sport 5 channel 2.4. You can get the Tx Rx for around $99.00 and they work great. Not sure I would trust one in my more expensive projects.

As for Batteries, I am still learning. My 737 batteries are: Turnigy 35C 5000 4 cells. I also have the 3 cell version and may try that too. My setup still seems to get hot (mostly cables) even with the new bananna 5mm connectors throughout.

I may be going with two batteries vice one if the heat gets worse. My setup currently is both edf's in parallel with one battery.

Runs great though!!! Tons of power!!!

I've been using them for over a year with no problems.

You nailed it HighFly!! Yes you are correct. It will be several more weeks of painting. My wife actually picked it out and is doing most of the work. It's a huge challange just to paint, but hay, it's just an hour or so each night working on it. My problem is that I can't wait to fly it. It's ready to fly now!!
