livery
When I was stationed at Naval District Washington as a younger man, I'd fly home to Ft Lauderdale every chance I got. I chose Air Florida cuz it was cheap, and at the time, once the plane entered the state of Florida, the drinks were free. ( I ended up pretty hammered by the time I got home).
I called it my "joyride".Always a 737 type, that would scare the bejesus out of you cuz they turned right, right after take off from Reagan Natl and youd swear you were gonna dip a wing in the Potomac...Always a blast gettin home thanks to AF and the good hearted stewardesses.
Heres the Paul Harvey rest of the story...
I ended up taking it for the last time on Dec,22nd, 1981.
24 days later, my "joyride", AF Flight90 (Palm90) went down in the Potomac River with the loss of 74 lives.Only 1 of those goodhearted gals made it out.
So when I get mine, it's gonna get Air Florida livery.
