Ben, where do you think the excessive weight can be attributed to? I looked at your build and could not identify anything besides maybe the finish which may be the cause.

Have you tried smaller batteries?

I finished last night covering the elevators with vinyl which added 11 grams to each. I am now. Concerned with other parts as the klm design calls for 100% coverage of all surfaces.

This is where you can save on weight (from the top of my head)

1. Batteries
2. Motors
3. Covering
4. Remove Extra foam from the fuse
5. BEC instead of dedicated Rx battery
6. Foam tires instead of rubber
7. Hollow arrow CF shaft as central spar instead of provided spar
8. 3M77 glue instead of epoxy. No need for epoxy at all

Rookie thanks for the offer. I received from Ming also the KLM decals but had issues with matching the colors as well as some missing text which are on the full scale aircraft.

Callie charged me $30 for the whole KLM job which included additional decals and way better quality as I know her work from past orders I placed with her.

The fuse came out heavy. I added too many coats of primer, sparkle, filler and varnish and paint. The whole fuse has a shell of this stuff. It's hard, just like if you glassed it heavily. I have also used epoxy like it was light as air

The vinyl also adds weight, but this is marginal everything considered. I also use 2x4s 4000mAh pacs. They are 925g alone.

One good thing though. By moving cg 2omm backwards, I could remove all the lead I had in the nose, 85 grams total.

If I have to build another one, I'm going the light route

I will be going vinyl all the way. This is the first time I am doing this and so far I am happy with results. I will post pictures after some more progress.

I will start stripping more foam as Sergey did as I am worried about the potential weight of the vinyl.

When I tell someone I am on vacation it typically means that I having a blast at the flying field..

Sergey, did you get the new fan parts? How do you find the quality to be?

Well, it's not a real vacation, it is a vacation from building 737 I am working on rebuilding my family life that suffered tremendously because of my hobby

Yes, I got new rotors. They are of high quality. It is almost impossible to tell the difference between cheap and expensive ones, except expensive are several gram heavier. The aluminum spinner looks good too.

Flaps and Spoliers DONE! (And this time I mean it, really)

As they are now covered in the vinyl, and fully tested as operational, I will now describe the flap system and spoilers as "complete." At this point, I will cover the wings and hang the engines and canoes. Once this all done, I will move onto the fuse (for which I have nothing cool planned, other than maybe a partial weight-loss program. )

Full lighting package, including navs, strobes, landing lights, and beacons are also installed.
