Strange cause Hyperion has the 3026-1400 at 199 grams.....i was planning on going that route,or the 1600,but why get a motor that is 20 to 40grams more with no added power...plus the winding on the Pyro is way nice and mucho thick. The Pyro is 180 grams for one reason,it is built very light, hold one in your hand and you will see what i mean...they did a great job on that motor.I had posted these pics a while back of the Scorp next to the Pyro.

You got to give it up to Kontronic, they build some LIGHT motors that run ooooooh so cool....much like the Kira i had in my X-Plane,it was so much lighter then my Mega setup, and ran a 1/4 the temps...but that MOTOR DID NOT LIKE ME in the end and the Mega still lives on.Darn shame i tell you.So i guess you got to give it up to Mega also

I have posted a few times about the acceleration that i have been enjoying with this setup, but with the wicked winds,it has been hard to video. But i did catch a nice bit in this vid,if you watch from a very slow glid into the wind at the 1:11 mark, then punch it for only 3 seconds, and watch how fast it pulls out of view....and to give a better idea, our runway (the black part) is 300ft....so far the Koch props Get Up and Go the best.Damn shame i did not have time to try the 7X10 folders,i think they will do real nice with these new packs.

Hmm, the hubs on those have 44 layers of 12k rovings in them. It might still be strong enough after you drilled it out. But I cant guarantee you it won't explode, so it's a use at your own risk thing Doug. If it does come apart it should separate cleanly at the hub and not damage anything else, just make sure you're well clear off the prop when you run it up.

What about Pyro 600? a little longer, a little heavier. Maybe not needed as the 400 is cold after a flight. Thinking 7-8S operation.

The Scorpion HK 3026 is 198g, the HK 3226 is 239g.
Andy Reisenauer told me that the 3226 has an advantage at the dyno of about 5% in efficiency at high powerlevels to the 3026.
I am pretty sure that the 3226 can take a lot more then the 3026 and the bell/shaft seem to be stiffer, which may solve the problem of the 3026 that magnets sometimes touch stator at high G-forces.

But anyway, the standard Pyros may be at the same level than good handwinded Kit-Scorpions and they are lighter and better ventilated.

Only problem I can see with that it getting an ESC that will work on 7S in there, and getting the CG correct.....that is what I am working on now.I have the 7S packs that fit nice,it is just getting everything else to go

Going out to do a good doppler vid right now as the winds have finaly calmed down,we have seen 238mph flat and level, and it launches around 2.8 Kw and settles down from there.
