The batteries are TP 65c 1800 mAh. One is a 4s 1800mAh and the other a 2s. I fit the 4s in first then slide the 2s in.

Did a static test and the motor came apart. It showed on the castle log 119 amps @2100 watts with 49555 rpms. The Castle logs are known to be 10% high. Sometimes higher.

I thought about buying the Neu 1115 2.5y and running a 4.75x4.75 prop with the 6s??? Maybe I need to get a hold Steve and see what he recomends.

There is a possibility that the shaft could have been slightly bent due to a previous crash? It flew great with the 5s but maybe the 6s pushed it over the edge. Looks like the front bearing gave out. Also not a fan of full throttle static tests. Seems hard on things.

What other motor options could I go with? I dont blame the Neu. It ran awesome all summer on 5s. I just cant leave things alone. Must go faster!!

1115/2.5Y is just 1125KV, will be boaring on 6S.
Your 1115/1Y has 2800 KV and running it on 6S with 4.75x4.75 is right on the limit, or over it, but, I belive this motor would handle it, problem on direct drive high setups is that all thrust go directly to the shaft, you can imagine 2kg thrust into 3.17mm shaft.
I would try running on 5S and big prop like Graupner 5.2x5.2, but, I still believe 2.5Y will handle 6S and small prop.
I'm running mega motor 16/35/1.5R 2700KV but it's get very hot on 5S, duno if it would handle 6S
If you want abuse another option is mega 16/40

Cheers,
Andre

Great info on the Mega.

Oop's.. Was thinking about the 1115 2.5D. Sorry. 2100kv. Run this with 6s along with a 4.75x4.75 or even 5x5?

I still think the 1115 1y on 6s with a 4.1x4.1 will work. Maybe a 4.5x4.1.

Going to wait until sunday to order something.

Thanks for the info.

I have generally had good luck with the Megas, flying fast back in the days when 600watts in a VIP 400 was alot :-) They do handle alot of abuse and very much power if flying it in bursts. I very seldom fly full throttle for the whole flight, I always use proper management of the throttle.

While Neus engineering skills costed me about $1900 from my own pockets. for me easy choice :-)

I may try out the MEGA 16/40/1.5RC. Has 2270kv. This may work well on 6s along with a 5x5 prop. Just need to find a 30mm spinner with a 5mm collet.

Henke we are aware of your problem with the Nue and what you think was poor service. Alot of us have had zero issues with his product or service.

Terry,
Just order it directly from mega without the combat shaft (ie a 16/40/1.5R (no C) )

The other option would be a 16/40/1E, which would be a kV of ~2800, with the same low Rm as the /1. Be prepared for uber rpms

Thats what I ordered today. The 16/40/1.5R. Should be a nice combo with a 6s and 4.75x4.75 prop. Will also try a 5x5 if the amps are not to high.

Going to try and fit a heat sink also.

Thanks for the info.

I had good luck on my Escape which ran a 16/40/2 with a 4mm shaft just running a collet adapter and then making a fairing that blended the 30mm front of the plane to the ~10mm diameter prop adapter. I didn't notice any adverse drag or noise coming from the model and it still achieved 190mph on reasonable wattage.

But a 3.17mm shaft is any easy solution to the problem

Terry,
Mega are open minded and are willing to make custom solutions. At least they've done it several times for me and my friends. We invented the 5mm shaft you now want to get rid of when flying air combat with the 16/15/6 on 2S and a 7x5 prop back in the days when li-pos were rated like 6C discharge :-)

So which would be better for sport flying with a 1506 on 5S and a 4.75x4.75, the Viper or Swist? I'd also want flaps.
