How much flight time would you get on the 6S setup with the 1800mah packs?

Power on time is just over a minute, but after watching the bids,I was stretching the flights to 2 1/2 minutes. You can go to You-Tube and search "Swist 4th of July" that video has the 1800mah 6S with an inrunner.

If your looking for flight time just go 2200mah 6S or 2650 5S.

Johnny,
If you want to use mega 16/40/1,5 at 6S i am pretty sure not accu capacity will limit runtime, its more the heat capacity the motor is able to take.

In my experience a 170g motor is able to take about 1200W per minute, even a 1800mAh is able to deliver about 2000W/min,i am pretty sure your motor would melt before battery is empty!!!

Makes sense. Yes, I do plan on using my Mega 16/40/1.5rc. I have had this motor for 2 years, and never have really pushed it hard. It has seen most of it's time in a Funjet on 4s. It's time to try 6S. I am going to start with an APC 4.75x4.75.

Batteries for a 6s series cinfiguration are sold out everywhere. I haven't checked TP yet, but I am not going to invest in something like that until I figure out what cells, configuration I like.

As lipos get better and better, the tendency in F5d competition is using smaller capacity, for slim fuselages.
For this season i will use gens ace 1400,even at 5S enough energy to destroy most 200g drives if throttle is open too long.

As we have to keep min weight of 1 kilo in competition for regulation its only an advantage in size, for funflying you will also benefit from weight reduction!

Prewarming the packs to 40-45 will be necesary but anyway, thi hould be standard for any HP battery use!!

Check out differences of 5S 1400 Gens to common 5S 1800cells.
First static tests showes even better results of the ( new) gens than the (used) APL!

Weight advantage is 62g.

DUP, you may have seen these, but one of these in a metal box with a temp gauge works well.

Especially if you get carried away and make a stand in the box to sit the lipos on and use a 12v PC fan to move the air around.

Nice thread around here somewhere with good pictures.

Why fix the gigaflaps?
