So, I finally got mine out of the box to discover that I cannot assemble it - The aileron lead is too short. I do not have any of the little micro connector extensions so am stuck (I also cannot get the thrice accursed AR6300 Rx to work) so I am stuck until I figure out what to do with this thing.

Anybody want a just out of the box Micro A-10 with the micro connectors?

What receivers are you guys using and are any of them Spektrum or JR (2.4 or 72MHz) compatible?

Since I have a spare airframe, one likely change would be the use of the Jpower 35mm fans and motors. They offer similar performance but with considerably less amp draw. In fact, a pair of 35mm fans on 3s draws less than 15A. All it would take is some sanding of the inside of the nacelles and drop in the power system from the Skyangel A-10.

30mm vs. 35mm

is this measurement from the blade diameter, or the fan shroud diameter ? i have a 30mm f-86 ..the backside of the shroud measured exactly 35mm...this kinda confused me

That's a very good question! There doesn't seem to be much consistancy from manufacturers as to to what constitutes an accurate measurement. You can have two samples of a 30mm fan from two different manufacturers and there might be several mm difference between the two. Some seem to measure blade diameter, some go by shroud. It's frustrating at times.

Affordable is such a relative term. A JPower / Skyangel 35mm fan and motor will fit with a little sanding of the inside of the nacelles. Amp draw is half and performance is similar on 2s. On 3s those fans come alive and performance rocks at 15 amps for the pair. Each fan and motor is about $30 at hobbyb.com and the setup is great.
