I know what you mean, Carrera. My basement space isn't large enough, either. Thank goodness there is only my wife and I, so I use the "dining room" as my building area. But this thing is so big I can't put the outer wing sections on in the room.

Nice job Stagger!! She leaped into the air and floated back to earth like a feather. Coooooolll! Did you ever find the problem with the gear doors? Blue skies.

The way she flies she's almost a giant scale park flyer. Very gentle looking. Is she really?

Yes to all, she is really a smooth flyer. No noticeable bad traits, except I still have to get flap/elevator mix adjusted. She ballons a lot on full flap. The landing was on first notch of flap, about 15 degrees. Stall just dropped the nose and flew out. No wing drop at all. Controls were on high rate, have not programmed in low rates, yet. I think I'm just going to dial in 50-60% Expo. Most of flight, including take off was 1/2 throttle. Went to 3/4 throttle on loop at just under vertical point. Went to full throttle on second flight a few times. Did not notice much speed increase.

Hahaa. Brent, are you getting one of these too? I'm still saving my pennies. They just came back in stock a week or two ago and are already almost sold out. Grrr.

I may not be able to get one this round, but dang that video make me REALLY want one now. I'd probably try to fly it with two 6S 5000 packs since that's what I'm using in all my other big birds.

Nice flying Staggerflyer! It sure is a beauty! Please post some flight videos of it flying with the pedal to the metal! I'm anxious to see what it'll do when you push it to the limits!

yeah, hoping to get one before they are gone.....i think the setup i have in my BH 90-120 corsair but on apc 16" 3 bladers would be pretty killer. notthing 5300W wont cure....just think....i could probably get 10 min flights cause it wont take much power to cruise. my corsair does 125mph on the 2600W setup (G110, 8s 5000) so the TCAT should do atleast that much....yikes!

OK, Corsair and WC, flew it again this afternoon, after reinstalling our petromat runway that was torn loose by someone in a pickup.

I'm flying it on 6s 5000 each right now, because that's what works for the 14x9x3 props. And WC, what you saw there was just about top speed, with those props. ICE logs show 9600 rpm, 80-87 amps, depending on load, 1700 watts in the air.

My Black Horse .90 size P-40 uses a Scorpion 4025-12 440kv on 5s 5000 turning an APC 15.75x13x3 1450w, 7300rpm. I am going to cut down a pair of these props to 14 or 14.5 (required for ground clearance) and try them on 5s each. 6s with the 16x10x3 Master Airscrews go into cut-off at half throttle.

My 21 lb Staggerwing uses Eflite 160 on 10s turning 20x8 wood. 95mph on radar.

The P-6E in Avatar uses Eflite 110 on 8s turning Mejzlik 18x10x3. I never open it up full, don't want to tear wings off. Cruises at 1/2 throttle.

All my batteries are 5000mah Blue Lipos from Hobbypartz.com

That APC 15.75 x 13 three-blade is a nice prop, I'm using that on my ESM PC-21 . They're quiet props, so you won't hear the plane much.

You could do the MA 16x10 3-blade, they have both pusher & puller prop in that size, so you could cancel out the torque a bit with the contrary rotating props.

I'm probably gonna go with the MonsterPower 60, which is 400kv on 6S and the APC 15.75 x13 3-blade. I'm not sure though if that motor can handle it, it would be pushing it. But the motor is in open air, so cooling wouldn't be a problem. I use a turnigy with the exact same specs on an Extra 330S (Fliton) flying an 18x10 prop and it absolutely ROCKS on 6S 5000mah packs, so I'm fairly confident it could handle it.

I'm with you Corsair Nut, this plane looks like it's meant to fly fast & furious.

Stagger... more video please!

Found an excelent photo pass shot of the Tigercat useful for detailing info. Note the aircoop/intake position on the wings, (the ones in the kit are for the OUTSIDE positions, outside the nacelles,) as well as the outlet duct positions and orientation. Also note the exhaust stains.
