My first online build. Mig 7
This is going to be my first online colaborative build.
My last and first mig probably took me all of 18 months to build
I will try harder this time and seen as I got to fly it at the Hermanus Slope In for the first time I ended up mostly flying the Mig the whole weekend.
I must say that flying "plastic" as its called by our club chairman is a lot of fun without the stress of having a mid-air if you are flying a glass ship.
As I had taken so long to finish my Mig I also found that the correx had seems to have weathered over the 18 months that it stood outside in the elements or in my hot garrage. Just about every time I landed I had to get the tape out to patch her up.
This time I will try to have it finished a lot quicker.
I have spoke to the PE crowd and Sean suggested a slightly bigger scale.
The plan I had printed has a wingspan of 1.3m. The orig plan looks like it was about 1.15m.
I've also decided to put in a rudder.
So lets see how that turns out.

Formers and correx
So far I have cut the formers and have started with the tail section.
How does this all look ??
And no comments about my "workshop" please..

Great project. That's going to be a lot of work. I really like those planes, but I have to cheat and work from a glass fuse, which is still a lot of work.
Do you have a time/frame goal in which to finish this glider? I never meet my goals, but like to have them as they make me push harder throught the process.

The Mig I built for Hermanus was involved in a ""few"" mid-airs whilst flying at our local site here in Port Elizabeth.
So I too need to build another!

I got my old one going on Monday again but it was blowing at least 40-50km/h here.
Taped on all the lead I could find. Eventually got it going but still battled to get it moving away from the slope.
I was checking what its AUW is and then saw all the dings/dents and holes in the wing..
I've just got to wait for Bobby to get back next week so I can get him to cut some spars for me. I think I'll get at least two sets..
They will never go to waste..

I want to have this done in about 3 weeks.
I would like to maiden this plane on weekend of 21/22 Jan.

When I cut spars I always do a few sets, cut 5 last time.
Three weeks is going to be a challenge. But it can be done......ask me!..
Just go fo it!!
