Well, VFRANK 59 is correct, the container arrived today and is already unloaded.
Vern drove down and was the first USA customer to receive his 50% KA-6. I couldn't help but to unwrap it and take a look at the plane as he was headed out. The airplane looks GREAT! All the little changes were made and I am very happy with what I saw. I am sure Vern (VFRANK59) will have his own oppinion soon. Ok, if you are on the list and are all paid up... your airplane will be shipped out ASAP! Good luck guys!! Bill Hempel |

Assembly Bill Hempel 50% KA-6 Glider
Someone had to be first! I hauled butt to Tucson and picked up KA-6.
![]() I spent a couple days with Bill last week and he taught me a ton of things! I even got to fly his Prototype KA-6. If you guys ever get a chance to fly with a Pro, Bill Hempel, is the MAN! Thanks Bill for bringing such great models to us little folks! So begins, Assembly Bill Hempel 50% KA-6 Glider Today I received a call from, Bill Hempel, My 50% KA-6 Glider was ready for pick-up. I shot down to Tucson and picked it up. Wow, this thing is Huge! So I loaded it up and brought it to the hanger and began assembly. Monday, I will begin installing the equipment. I should have it ready in a couple days. This is gonna be Quick!! As you can see, I crammed the KA-6 in the Rover and it fit, barely! Who says you need a 14 foot van to haul model planes around! Pictures are from when I picked it up and assembled things just to see how it all went together. 30 mins. and it was assembled. I am slow! Everything fit perfectly and the paint job was exceptional. I did not find any runs, drips or errors. The hanger was not lit up well when I took the photos but you can see the gloss. Perfect! The canopy has new magnetic latch mechanism. He holds Tight! You better have good strong fingernails to open it. |
