Totally new to this level of RC. Glad to find some discussion about Exceed crawlers without all the bashing.

I recently came by one of these (blue) but really only have experience with the walmart kiddy rc cars. Anyone know of any resources where I can get some heads up on the lingo and maybe the definitions to some of the acronyms especially regarding the Tx(see I know one already)?

I hate when I can't get into a new hobby because those in the know just look down their nose at you. So far this seems like the friendliest and most cordial RC forum I've come across.

I figure this is probably a good enough unit to cut my teeth on before moving up to one of the name brands.

The abbreviations for the more advanced controls were confusing but I found a glossary that helped a lot. It seems a little less mysterious now than it did years ago when I tried my hand at it. Some things are quite a bit more user friendly and automated like linking the radios.

I don't really know how these stand up to the other brands but I'm pretty impressed. In my rush I ran out and started playing as soon as it was charged and after about 20 minutes a wheel fell off. Totally my fault for not checking everything.

Tried mounting a couple of video cameras (one was 3D) to it but they had too narrow field of view.

Is there a minimum # of posts before I can post pictures?

Exceed Mad Torque Rock Crawler Review (3 min 37 sec)

Check out our latest adventure where we take our Mad Torque to its natural habitat. The Rock Crawler embodies good features from real rock crawlers. Multi-link suspension and axles provides all 4 wheels through A center-mounted 3-gear transmission, providing tremendous grip and torque at all times and overcome any obstacle that it may meet with.

I want to get the 1/16th version of this truck.
Does it seem to be put together pretty well.
All I read are bad things about exceed rc stuff.
But for 100 RTR for the 1/16th thats hard to beat.
