Kristoff the Vlad Helios flew freakin awesome this last contest! 1st time I have really had a chance to fly it seriously. It flew way better than I did!!!!!

To place 12th against the competion with my skill level is a huge testiment to the awesomeness of the design.

There were several VERY LONG trips backto the field that the Helios somehow made! One very memorable run had me 20' up and way the heck out there in the desert. She would not quit and made it back easily when I was in panick mode because I thought there was no way to cover the ground I needed.

Another time she wasnt going to make it and I was 2' up and 20' out and into the wind and out of airspeed, a little blip 2 times on the elevator back to back and 10' apart took her up a foot and she coasted in to my hand at the field boundry. Not sure how she did it, but the blip didnt just stall her but gave her a boost somehow.

Several times her long sexy legs were the first to point out the lift which drew a crowd that helped myself and everyone else max the round. Often she climbed at just a krazy fast rate! If I was a better pilot she would have gone up even faster but I often like to find the worst air and confirm it several times before making the most of the good air.

To say I am very happy with the Helios is an understament. I think the saddest part of the story is that we dont have a better pilot here in the states flying one. But I am glad she makes me look better than I really am.

Truly a winning plane!

Heres who made the flyoffs in front of me.

Tanks Kristoff.

Today, I am thankful for my Vlad Helios! She flew like a champ this morning. Just keep her out of the sink and she will fly forever. I think I had a 15 minute early morning flight today. 1/2 dozen or so thermals linked up for a flight soo long I landed because my neck was gettin tired. Didnt hurt that the sky was full of love, but what a great morning. Tanks Kristoff!

Thanks Kristoff!!! The full carbon Helios was the magic weapon today. Lots of snow, cold as a bugger, and only 2 thermals reported for the day!
