That's why it's next on my build table, and with the Q80-8M 12s package.

Got some great feedback the other day about setup and weights, cooling etc, I'll bet it will rock.

Anyone know about Hyperion servos? I'm looking at the ds-13 metal gear (5085 equivalent) its a little slower than the the 5085 but its only 30 bucks.

Considering putting them in a by per.

Got the maiden done! It was windy but still awesome. I don't have the SFG's or stabs so it is not the EXP but I love it anyway

I have had so much fun with the ef edge I put over an hour of flight time on it just the other morning.
Matt,

when did you come to the dark side and fly gas? 60cc Eh?

Love those 10-15 minute flight times!

I'm using them in my EF Extra EXP, and I've been using DS-20xSMD in my 70" 3DHS planes. Overall, good servos, strong, take 6.6V (i.e. direct LiFe) unregulated. One consistent problem with mine has been fluttering around teh center. It's not a flutter in aerodynamic sense - they just don't settle down if the linkage doesn' t have enough friction. That looks to be a design problem - the controller doesn't have enough dampening built in. I dealt with it by stickinga little piece of velcro in the gap between e.g. elevator/stab. That creates just enough friction to clam down the servo, but doesn't affect overall performance.

That said, I replaced the elevator servo on my 3DHS Velox with a Savox 1258 a few weeks ago, and I like it a lot more.

So my mxs that I crashed and tweaked the thrust line should be back up in the air this weekend. I had to add some washers to get it back a bit more in line. I am going to put the battery in the same spot and try and zero out my trims.

How do I check thrust line though? Is it just up/down line full throttle and then chop it to see what it does with no elevator input?

Pulls toward gear add down thrust
Pulls towards canopy add up thrust?

To check up or down thrust

Pull vertical neutralize elevator.

If plane pulls toward the canopy then add down thrust
if plane pulls toward the gear then add up thrust

This is assuming that elevator is trimmed neutral after perfoming a power off dive to check incidence

Thats different than what I have done.
Check this link out:

If you are adding up/down thrust is sound more like a CG issue. I know a lot of 3D pilots like the CG farther aft though. Does the plane balloon when trying to land?

Sweet beast.
That's what I'm planning on and same blue version.
Gotta wait till the exp version hits the ef supplier down under.
