IR is useful for checking how healthy your batteries are - as they degrade IR goes up and C goes down. Translation: they get hot under lower loads than when new, and put out less power.

The accucell 6 can't give IR (resistance), but the icharger can check IR for both Li and Ni batts..
You could get an accucel-6 and one of these to check IR:

yah not a bad device depending on how IR is measured (AC or DC).
PowerLab will also run an IR on every cell level and graph them for you over time

That is a cool looking plane, IoNslo. I'd recommend the 206b if you think you will continue. The t6 multi charger is okay for this plane. I have two of these as well as a 3010b. I still use the multi-chargers. But the quality is not very good. There are four independant ports. On mine, they seem to have different firmware per port. As though there was a firmware update during production, and somebody forgot to update some of the ports. No problem because of that, however. The green power 350 would be good enough for the multi-port.

I would not get the Nano Tech, get the regular Turnigy blue. I have a couple that have deteriorated after 20 or 30 cycles and take forever to balance (3S-6000). Do a search on them and you have a 50/50 chance on getting a good one. I have many regular Turnigy that have hundreds of cycles and are still going strong. Also, careful with Banana Hobby, the planes or ok but getting parts is very difficult if not impossible. I got a Cessna years ago that I really liked but needed a few parts after a crash. I gave up on getting them as they never got any (same mfg.- Blitz RC) Sorry to be so negative, just trying to save you some frustration.

Yes, those are the Turnigy I was talking about. Don't know anything about the Glacier but EP Buddy is a good vendor - I have had excellent service from them.

John, if nothing else, I would suggest one of your chargers for anyone new. I use a Hyperion but hear nothing but good comments about the Powerlabs. Outgrowing a charger happens pretty fast and always tell people to get a charger they can grow into, not out of.

Not to sidetrack the discussion, but I noticed you are in Marina Del Rey.

I was visiting family in Playa Del Rey a few weeks ago and every Saturday morning a group of guys fly electric planes together on the beach about 1/3 mile after you pass the volleyball courts (if walking down strand from Marina).

They were all friendly and easygoing. You might want to stop by and chat with them, or get help with your new plane. They meet early on Saturday (about 8:00 am).

Both brands Revolectrix and Icharger are good brands to go with for a charger. Lots of help on the forums.

No problem guys. Free to look around but I'd download the free CCS software from out site and see how detailed our charger is.
Also check out the youtube channel on the front of our website too and see what others are doing

Turnigy blue 30 to 40c and Icharger 208b is what I have used for years, Ionslo. Very happy with them.

The ICharger is a good choice.

As for the power supply.... and perhaps if you want to go domestic on the ICharger purchase then try this vendor http://www.progressiverc.com/the-ticket-350w-combo.html, they have honest shipping and good Customer service.

If you are going with the HK Lipos they use XT60 connectors so you should have one of these http://www.progressiverc.com/paralle...t-xh-xt60.html. You can charge 1 or more Lipo Batteries at the same time. If you have not charged Lipo's in parallel you will need to learn the rules, plenty of info in the ICharger thread. But you can also charge them one at a time with this board.

As for the Airplane... Have you purchased it already?

If not check the Vendor forum... this vendor has many reported issues with customer service. With them it seems hit and miss, some get what they pay for while others have had issues with shipping damage, missing parts and planes that can barely fly. See if you can find a thread on the airplane, perhaps there are weak points that may need to be corrected before the Maiden.

I took a 25 year break from RC Flying and it took me a while to get my hand eye coordination back (still re-learning). I bought a cheap Hobbyzone Champ RTF to get me back into flying. A week later I bought a Spektrum DX6i and a ICharger 106B combo from progressive RC. Another month passed and I bought a AXN Cloud Fly form Hobby King. I had a very old Slow Stick sitting unfinnished in the Garage. Now all 3 of my airplanes are active flyers.

Coincidentally, I placed that very combo (@ Progressive) in my cart and filled out all the personal info except the credit card, about an hour ago. Waiting for a few more details. Though I haven't committed to the batteries, yet and am still uncertain which parallel or balance board to go with. Over the past few days I've read the threads, here, on batteries, chargers, paralleling,... Just trying to do proper due diligence, on my own, and develop a basic understanding before committing. Progressive's batteries are a bit pricey, for me, so I'm inclined to go with EP Buddies' Glaciers. I'll decide early next week, when they're supposed to offer free shipping.

The PL6 looks wonderful but seems more than I really need to spend, just for this one plane.

OT--(Just received my trainer, today, and had a very good experience with Banana Hobby, on the phone; consequently left them positive feedback in the vendor area. Also have a new Futaba 7c system on the way.)
