Tom,

I'm beginning to see a trend in when you start your builds by the use of the winter holiday ply...

How many projects do you have going at the same time?

The 195 is on hold, until I can safely prime her in the Spring. If all goes according to plan, the SW will be completed by then.

No, Wil. The wing joiners came with the kit. They just needed to be drilled and tapped.

Today, we'd use wing tubes. The SW is an older design, utilizing the technology of the 80's.

The installation was not hard, but it was time consuming. The worst part being the time it takes for the epoxy to cure.

As most people, who have built a Sig kit have encountered, my SW is missing some wood. This time, it was a ply sheer web.

It was time to break out the" holiday ply".

The sheer web was easily made, and then installed. I used the other web as a pattern.

The front sheer webs were then installed. They run all the way out, to the tip.

More shop time !

The top leading edges have been sheeted. The wing joiners have been permanently mounted. Spars for the ailerons are installed. Aileon leading edges are sheeted.

Both wings are at the same point.

Next up.... Capstrips.

Both wings have the top side caps strips installed. The rear sheer webs have been installed on the outer wing panel, and the bottom trailing edges have been installed.

Nice to see all those rib holes pre-done. Looks like a nice kit, Tom.

Sorry for the delayed reply, Carey. I was up into the late hours, watching Iowa beat Colorado, last night.

Sig craftsmen series kits are some of the best that I've seen. They contain clear, step by step and illustrated manuals, along with easy to read plans. The parts fit is excellent, and the die cutting is good.

If I had a complaint, it would be that every Sig kit seems to be missing wood. Usually, it's stock, off the shelf, stuff, like cap strips or stringers. More of an inconvenience, than a problem.
