Are they the older ones that are good for FPV? How far have you flown on them. I'd be interested in the whole lot.

Maybe that's the way to go.

"You want to buy a lottery ticket?"
"I don't believe in gambling."
"I bet I can change your mind."
"You're on."
"Pay up."

For now, I'll stick with the whole job thing.

Just a couple of quick questions about LCD displays:

1) I am looking for something that's approx. 17 inches. Is there any out there that is tested, reliable, and won't break the budget?

2) Also, what should I be using as a power source for a screen of this size?

Thanks

I have a 1.2Ghz system and I just ordered a dragonlink 433mhz LRS. After ordering it, I realized that the 3rd harmonic of the LRS may interfere with the video frequency. My video RX does NOT have a SAW filter BUT I do have a couple of Low Pass filters laying around. I have a 433mhz Low Pass filter and a I also have a 1.2Ghz Low Pass filter laying around.
1) If I use these, will they help the situation and reduce interference?
2) If I were to use these.... where would I place them??

thanks in advance for your help fellas!

hi all,

I think it's time for an upgrade on my fatshark base goggles but I'm a little unclear about the whole concept. With the base goggles, I was able to directly plug the video Rx to the goggles using the 6-pin connector which was supplied. Now, with the Dominator goggles, I've noticed there is a 5.8ghz antenna attached to the goggle. Does this mean I can't directly connect the 6-pin connector anymore? I don't want to go wireless on my video goggles.

[Simplest is to use ferites on coaxes
for ground station

Separation will just eventually make thing complicated and painto set up

There are threads and posts on how to eliminate UHF video interference and keep things close

All ground and plane set ups are best when all is close to each other
Separation just is not the good ideal way

It's not complicated and easy done

You put stuff out on wings and create crap flying plane

Put stuff out on ground station and waste time and money

Ideal situation is put things nice and close and still fly long range

I will one day make video on how it is done proper

QUOTE=IBCrazy;22465074]The best thing to do is move your UHF transmitter as far away as possible. CP isn't going to fix the loud UHF system issue. What I tend to do is use a low power repeater. A small 25mW 5.8GHz tansmitter/receiver combination will repeat the signal from your 1.3 system to a small 5.8GHz rx. No fancy antennas needed for this either. If you opt for the 100mW fatshark transmitter, I suggest you also use an attenuator of ~6db to cut down on the interference from it.

I'd like to get some clarification please as to what the difference is between watts vs. thrust. Here's where the question stems from. I have a Bixler with a 6 inch prop, wanting to upgrade to a 8 inch prop. On my current setup, I'm getting 305 Watts of power (not sure how many grams of thrust) on a 6 inch prop with a 2200kv outrunner motor drawing 27amps WOT. The prop and motor combo I'd like to use is a 1500kv motor on a 8x4 prop. But according to the specs on this new motor (http://www.flybrushless.com/motor/view/194) ... I am getting only 202 watts BUT 988grams of thrust at 19amps WOT. Both planes would be using a 3S 2200mah battery.
I am using my bixler for FPV and so I need something that will be effiecient in amp draw and can comfortably push a heavy plane. I couldn't care less for speed... just something that will get me to altitude really quick.
Based on this information... what would you guy's suggest??

Larger props produce more thrust and less speed per watt than a smaller prop.

Well here is my brand new ground station! Makes it a lot easier to carry my stuff back behind to the school where I fly.

I have a question as well. I've been considering Dragon Link but I think it might be too much for me. What would be the best 72mhz receiver for FPV. I've looked around and I know the older Corona's are good but now the newer ones aren't. I was looking at the R168DF by Futaba. Is that a good choice?

My Dominators have a 6-pin port. However I just use them for a repeater. Much more fuin to be wireless.

Okay, so this was something I was wondering about too. If I have a 1.2ghz video system (Tx/Rx)... does that mean that I can't use the wireless portion because I'm on a different frequency?

They also have a 3.5 mm AV jack (like a headphone jack) that can connect direct to an external receiver.
