As long as you're seeing the black flashing screen, you can at least be sure that it's graphics card drivers that are not completely supporting OpenGL.

I can say that even Intel HD 4000, which is the integrated graphics of many 3rd generation iX processors (my laptop has i5-3317U), works really well in Windows 8. I'm getting 60+ FPS on any flying field, very comfortable flying on a non-gaming laptop!
