Totally not worth all the work... it's better to just upgrade the motor! I have a 1500kv motor in mine now and run a 9X4.5 prop...much better with similar run times on a 3s 40c 2200mah pack.

366 logged flights on mine in the 27 months I've owned it. It's all stock and flying on the original components. I fly it almost daily and still enjoy it tremendously. Just amazing plane!

Mine has been down for couple months now for same reason as gooniac33.
Still think it's an awesome plane too and I'm missing the night flying.

Ok guys...mine will be back in the air soon!! I was able to order the parts on Nitro Planes on thursday and will have them all installed next week! Stock gear will be going back on since I now know how to land the plane without bending the nose gear. Go look in the parts section for the Dynam Cessna Skytrainer to find them...

Was looking to purchase this plane, but it seems to have the same nose gear issues as the SR22 (very sloppy & weak). I see some have converted her into a 185. Pretty cool, but hate to purchase an ARF and have to modify it right out of the box. Anyway to beef up the nose gear? Haven't had much luck with the SR22. Do you suggest any other 182 ARF's. or any other high wing airplanes? Thank you and happy landings.

Read through this entire thread. Several, perhaps four different approaches to nose wheel reinforcement have already been discussed, complete with detailed photos. Read on...

Cool looking plane! You need to add some flaps though!! it would make those landing approaches so much easier and you will be able to hit the runway!!

Aaaa it's so small. I have done the flaps on some of them I have had but it does not need them.

What the flaps do is allow you to make steeper approaches without the speed building. In order to make it a true 185 you need to have them!! But you did give me some inspiration! I am so sick of messing with my nose wheel breaking on mine. I can do the best landing possible and then a rock pops the wheel off... I was considering making it a RG but that would shoot the weight through the roof. Here is a vid of me flying mine at night with LED's glowing bright... if it weren't for the flaps this approach wouldn't be possible... Notice how narrow this path is too! Surrounded by trees and reeds...
