Any room for a newbie out there at El Dorado? I've been flying an ELF from Vadimirs models and I really love it, I have a feeling that my electrics are all going to start collecting dust. I normally fly with SULA but there aren't any regular DLG fliers out there that I can fly with

Absolutely! Come on out Feb 26th and enjoy a beautiful field and friendly, helpful pilots of all skill levels.

Head East on the 91, hang a right on the 605, exit right on Spring st., turn right into El Dorado Park East ($7 entrance fee - most of us buy a yearly pass) and wind your way North to the Glider Field in Area III.

Sunday 2/20 at ElDo

I was the lone DLGer at ElDo this morning. Freakin' beautiful day! scattered clouds, crystal clear blue skies, and SNOW covered mountains as a backdrop.

Flying was really fun - lots of localized thermals surrounded by sink with the occasional boomer thrown in for morale boosting. I was testing out the Blaster-3 with a little extra weight thrown in - up to a tad over 11oz, but it flew quite differently than it does unballasted.

Tomorrow is a holiday and looks to be similar weather - anybody going out? A little practice before the next contest on the 26th??

Hope It's OK

if I post a contest announcement on your thread. Would just like to extend an invitation to all of our Southern California friends.

Here is the next great contest. Scenic Southern Utah and beautiful weather this time of year. We'll be flying on a sod farm. There are pilots that I know are coming, but have not done yet the formality of signing up, so we'll easily surpass the 20 pilot threshold to qualify for "Tour Points". I suspect that we'll have more than 30 for this inaugural event. Las Vegas is a close neighbor, but in contrast "what happens in St. George, won't stay in St. George"! You Southern California surfers need to take a break from that beautiful ocean and spend some time on the rocks (red of course). Come join us.

I just got an email saying El Do is closed for a special event (usually a TV shoot) this weekend (3/10 to 3/13).

Whats the next best location?
