Many modellers asked me how the could cut foam fuselages using their CNC foam cutting machine.
This is a non trivial task, due to many problems in carriages synchronization and more...

Today has been finally released devFus Foam, the new application to draw and cut foam fuselages.
The drawing part is similar to devFus, and can exchange projects with it, but you can here:

- create cutting file for a 4 axis CNC hot wire machine, using GCode, DAT, DXF, Hpgl/PLT files

- preview and simulate the cutting job with a 3D simulator

- draw and cut by a 3 axis CNC milling machine the formers, that can be also used as templates for a manual hot wire bow

i have had a play and,

will we beable to edit the inside shape for ducted fans.

if the fuz section are set at different size foam blocks.
can you setup a menu or system for us to cut the foam block sizes first.

and a way to cut top decking's for fuselages would be great

at the moment i use profili to cut my top decking's

The feature to prepare the blocks is already included in the 4th panel of the Wizard.
I don't know what do you mean by cutting top decking's

top decking's front or rear are just the top part of a fuselage cut in foam.
if i just draw the out line of the fuselage top decking that i need it works OK

can we set the shape of the inside cut of the lighting holes ,square/oval/ rounded top and bottom/
and edit them.

you can think the decking as an alone fuselage and draw/cut it

I just added upper and lower shaped (keel) spars, they can help a lot to assemble the fuselage.
Now I'm working on the creation of lofted parts of the sheetings.
You will set a max tolerance and the parts will be created.
The sheetings will be 'unrolled' on the 2D plane and spliced in more parts according to the tolerance value, or also some inner cut will be added where possible
For very low tolerance for example you can get an upper and lower part for each formers couple. I hope I can release that feature in some weeks.
For higher tolerance or low curved external lines (the deek for example) you can have also only one part for the upper (or lower) sheetings

devFus, devFus Cam and devFus Foam will include this new feature

Any upgrade path for owners of DevFus? I just bought DevFus to cut foam and now this is what I really needed

The only upgrade available is from devFus to devFus Cam.
devFus Foam is a different application and does different things

But all the updates are for free, this is rather uncommon in the software world!

If you already own my Usb key you can buy the license of devFus Foam and I'll tell you how to store it inside the Usb key
