You may put a good fiberglass bidi tape over it, but it adds weight. This spar system is light and strong.

A pictures worth a thousand words

Just seen this...... Awesome!!!!!
As the designer of the Divinity series wings, might I ask....do you have a video of your Divinity flying?
I would love to see that.....

ApachePilot,

I personally thank YOU for such a great design! I built one Divinity, flew the tar outta it (it was easy to take and fly anywhere) built another (they fit under the truck seat sooo good ) and realized I had to built it bigger! For SPADFEST 2011. The video got buried in the thread. I thought about maybe making a build thread with the few pics I built during construction if there is a demand.

I named it the BUD (Blown Up Divinity... 250%)

This is a proof of concept flight video. It took some tweaking with the landing gear so that it could rotate to take off. Its a flat foam airfoil.

Since it does fly, I will now

- Add an airfoil by skinning the LE w/ some 2mm coroplast folded over and glued to the foam. Right now its just two 45* angle cuts on LE. Too much drag.
-Add an airfoil by skinning the TE w/ some 2mm coroplast folded over and glued to the foam. The blunt LE creates great drag from the vortexes induced.
-Shave some weight by "cheese swissing" the foam and covering w/ some scrap sign vinyl.
-Add some color
-AND once reliable and tuned, strap a camera on that baby

I would be honored with a link in your first post to vid and build thread if I write one.

Thanks
Joshua W

Theres some footage of the first full flight with the 25cc gas/glo homey. It just didnt have the oompff
46cc took care of it. It will really come alive when Im done modding it I think.
BTW, it flies just like the original. Note the full throttle 15mph speed pass

FPV Peace Drone, scratchbuilt foamie canard

I've designed and built what seems to be a very simple to construct and easy to fly 60" wingspan FPV platform that uses a canard planform and collapses for transport. I have made some pretty extensive videos on the wing and fuselage construction techniques and it wouldn't be very hard for an intermediate builder to figure out the rest.

Original thread here:

The construction and other related videos are on my YouTube channel but here is the main video pertaining to the most recent version of the FPV Peace Drone:

Very nice, Ed. Thoroughly thought out, tested and explained. Really excellent job.

Just finished my new plane, not yet fully FPV equipped, but designed to have room for camera and video Tx. I have yet to fly FPV so I designed this plane with FPV in mind.

Right now I got nothing fancy onboard (except maybe the flaps), only thing that provides extra stability is Kfm3 I might buy a stabilization system in the future, but by then I probably have a better plane for FPV. This is FPV-ready plane, so IF it flies nice enough I will throw my FPV grear on and try.

2212 1400kv RcTimer motor
30A Red Brick ESC (bec wire unplugged)
8x4 prop
5A separate BEC
6x 9g metalgear servos from RcTimer
2200mAh 3s Lipo
FrSky 2,4G 8ch receiver

If everything goes nice Ill add these onboard FPV gear:
Hobbyking HD wingcam
5,8G 200mW Tx
combined weight is only 50-60grams, since power is from the same battery as the plane.
