Guillow's 200% F-16

I had these plans enlarged last fall, did plan alterations periodically, until last week. This is what I have after a week of building and changing original thoughts

Built one 250% 6yrs ago with TD .09 in the nose. This proved the basic design was sound enough to try another. Very fast & loud!

First one had tailerons. I elected to use ail. & elev. on this smaller version.

Airframe;
W.S. > 24" Finish;
LOA > 37" Silk (?) on bottom, Coverlite
AUW > 16oz (I hope) remainder. Model Master acril.
All balsa w/ a little spruce.

Power;
Mega 16/15/3
Hi-Line shroud
Cut KY rotor
10-1100He pack

Using a cheater hole for wt. reasons and better static. 90% FSA exaust duct. Has home-made inlet/ ring made from bass & balsa.
Test running the fan yesterday resulted in the KY spinner splitting. The fan has more thrust without it. I attribute to better rpm.

Looks very nice there Steve!
Could you not cover with light 1/32" balsa sheet?
What's the length/span?

I guess my wording kind of mixed itself up, previously.

24" by 37" Matt.

Thanx Steve.

I believe I can obtain a better AUW with-out sheeting.
1/32" sht. should be firm, and covered in sections, so as to avoid that irregular look of the frame. My first one was sheeted in 1/16
and glassed. I would probably have to glass this one also to avoid cracks. In this version it will flex a little more.
Besides it's a small field jet and I like the stix look. Dissapears in the air.

G'day Stu!

I need a newer P.C. to accept the fire plug. My friend has a brand new cam. that can take 30sec. vids. or pics. If this thing fly's, and he can get the pics, I will. He can e-mail the pics to me.
I had a choice last month, buy a new PC or a clutch job for my truck. I need the truck more. Always something.
Did you say you had plans for a built-up panther, not built from yet?

I assume you mean you need a FireWire in port on your computer? Those can be had as add-on PCI cards and doesnt cost much ($20-40]

Thanx Haldor, I tried that. The PC will not accept it. They told me at Comp-USA that I needed to find a older version as my PC was to old. I have one installed now, but won't work. Only cost me $22.50 to find out. Need a larger gig PC any way. This one is only 1.5 gig, and when I tried to down load the cam program it told me there was not enough room.

Steve you may be out of room on the hard drive. You could probably make some room by emptying your recycle bin and your temporary internet files. I find it hard to believe that a 1.5 ghz computer can't accept a pci card...pci slots have been around since 1994 when the pentium 60 came out.

You may also have too many programs running in the background...look at the lower left corner of your screen, if there's a lot of icons there in the taskbar that means there's a bunch of stuff running and taking up memory. Realplayer is one, it's a blue icon and gets installed every time you view a realplayer clip...that's why I hate realplayer with a passion, among other reasons. You can turn those things off and keep them from starting when you start your computer. Go to Start, Run, and type in MSCONFIG. When the box opens click on the startup tab on the right and it will show everything that's running on startup. You can turn everything off and the computer will still start fine. You can leave the taskbar option checked. If you restart the computer and some hardware or software doesn't work like it did before, you can turn items back on and restart and see if they work.

If your hard drive is close to full then you can delete some old programs you don't use or backup files to recordable CD.

Buying a new PC is more fun!

Thanx Ed,

I had recieved instructions for installing the PCI card. The PC went into default? The man at the PC repair store,who gave the directions, said it wont accept the card. I'm new at this stuff so the reason is not understandable.
I will give your suggestion a try. Like the idea of a new one better. Always had "hand-me-downs"
