Reminds me of friends of mine that ogle rusty muscle cars as they contemplate the restoration. "Should only take about 40-50K to get that lookin' real nice."

Here's another nice resoration project. (Starting bid is down to $120 from $550).

Oir cow had a rear rutter. do a plane have frunt rutter?

I would be willing to say that plane has not been in the air in over 20 years. That old JR would make a good paper weight.

I've emailed those poor clueless guys occasionally. Some take my advice well, some get mad but we experts are usually correct.

We're just fooling around Cees. You have to take a look at the ad to understand.

I don't know why the LHS doesn't give the fella some helpful advice (maybe they are and he's just not following it). Anyone who is actually a modeler would not write or post an ad like that.

But it takes all kinds on this planet - the beauty of it!

David

P.S. Not replying for the other David, just my view.

Classic Pattern

Hi Chris[stuntflyr] I find you everyware. Nice estate buy. I have nice Phoenix 8 pretty much built but will save for latter. Have a Orion coming semi built. Saved a nice ST V .60 for it. Have a Bridi Killer Koas kit/ Sig King Kobra for now. My last swap meet find was a new in Box OS Max .61SF ABC. Super nice engine. Also have three YS .60's/ Three Weba .61 Blackheads and two Webra Speed .61's.
Anyway its been a long time since I have flown a nice Pattern ship, but look foward to it. I collected items for years and now show time!! UC/FF/RC all good for me.
Cheers,Dan

Now, if we all communicated using proper language and spelling like Mark and I are, it would be easy to understand each other!

Mark, you mentioned you sent me a PM on RCU but it seems it went astray. Feel free to resend it here; it might have a better success rate. RCU is at a glacial pace and it's frustrating the lot of us.

Are you seeing the left stab not square? Maybe optical allusion. Almost anything can be rebuilt to like new, but sometimes better to start from scratch....would love the challenge though!

SpadCat,

Truthfully, I can't really gauge the squareness from a small picture. What I do see though is that the planform of the stab appears incorrect. Some models you see built and even if they are rough from hours in the air, you can see that it was well built. Others, not so much. This one strikes me as one of those.

It is often easier to start from scratch IMO. But I guess it depends on what you are looking for.
