Richard, Yes, we're flying on December 11. Come Join Us!

Thanks for the link to the connectors. I ordered 3 180 mAh 2S packs from HobbyKing. And I asked Rick to get me a connector to get to my charger. So when all that stuff and my Hyper Taxi come in, hopefully at about the same time, I should be in good shape!

I bought the Y connector and can use my 1s batteries for even more flights if I need too.

We're spoiled in Grace UMC gym!

I felt very spoiled and in awe of the pilot of the Night Vapor in this video:

Parkzone NIGHT VAPOR, Flying around the Living Room (4 min 18 sec)

We always fly from 1-4. But this Sunday it will most likely be from 1-3 due to many tables and chairs to be set up for a big church dinner in the gym.

In this thread: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1348826 the first few posts I keep up with the schedule for flying at Grace UMC, St. Mary of the Visitation Parish Center, and MARS Micro Modelers on RSA.

Come fly with us if you'd like!

Calling Force R/C Pilots!

Yesterday I bought a pair of Force R/C helicopeters. I also wanted a ground target, but Rick was out of them, as was HobbyTownUSA.

I found out that the Force R/C helis have been discontinued because they only sold at Christmas-time. Bummer!

I went to the Force RC site: http://www.force-rc.com/ They still showed these available, but certainly not at the 2/$100 that I paid!

Anyway, I have two, and I need several people to compete against me (and others!). We might even keep a running tally of the outcome of such aerial combat matches.

Here's a nice one-minute video that shows a lot about them:

See you at the next Grace Family Fun Fly Sunday January 8, 2012!

Jim Marconnet

PS: I just ordered a ground target off EBAY. I should have it for next Sunday!

Cool! Glad to hear it!

I knew that someone had done Force R/C battle at several of the recent Grace Family Fun Flys. But I did not note who it was, because I had no similar equipment. Nor did I plan to get it, but I did for Christmas. Do come again and bring them.

I started a new thread on Force R/C Battles in the Huntsville/Madison area. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1566360 You might want to check in there to let us in this area know who all has such neat equipment, and with whom we might do battle!

My two brand new Force helis are so stable and well-behaved that I can do battle in my high-ceiling living room. And a high ceiling is not needed, at that! Apparently they have some sort of self-stabilation system. Apparently that's why mine don't lose yaw control when nearing LVC. They just fall out of the sky with little/no warning!

Thanks, and see you Sunday,
Jim Marconnet

We made the weekly Paper!

When I was at a recent meeting at church, a friend there asked if I had seen my picture in the paper? I went and got the free paper afterwards and sure enough!

This photo was of Rob and me when the Family Fun Flys were held at Madison UMC. Still a nice photo, and it's nice to be just a tiny bit recognizable and perhaps even Famous!

Next MARS Micro Modelers is Wednesday 1 February 2012

Hot off the press from Al Clark:

Folks,

Well, its been a while since weve had a flying session. Now that the Holiday activities are past, we should be able to get the Activities Building more frequently. Our next flying session will be next Wednesday, Feb. 1, from 4:00 to 6:30 PM in MSFC building 4316. I know a lot of you must have received some new flying toys from Santa, so bring em on out and show us what they do!

See you all next Wednesday!

Houston, the GFFF may possibly have been surpassed! But it took 2 gyms to do it!

See Posts 5 and 6 for two exciting new indoor R/C flying venues out East of Huntsville on Highway 72 E.

Brownsboro Baptist Church Gym and
Madison County High School Gym

Contact Tommy Whitaker at E-Mergent R/C Heli for more info and schedules!

Thanks, Keith, for the updated schedule!

When Keith flew with the Brownsboro Baptists last, he shot the latest schedule and shared it with me. Why where you standing on your head, Keith?

Every Monday and the first and 3rd Friday of the month! What a nice schedule!

Thanks!

Adding Tommy's Facebook Page for indoor flying updates, etc.

I just heard from Tommy that the Monday night flying at the Brownsboro church is cancelled this Monday due to a church calendar conflict. He'll be posting such updates on his Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/E-Merg...18848634823858
