Very nice!! I'm ordering a F16 and really dont like the color schem. Is there a type of paint i need to use for this type of foam?

No shot at you Don.. He was right I was curious as to which thread he was refering too.

Yeah it's draggy . Also its nose heavy with a 1000 ma 4s Sky li - po pushed back in the intake area. I'm gonna try getting it back another 1/2 inch. In this landing shot you can see how much reflex on the elevons it takes to cancle the nose heavieness.

It does look pretty good flying tho, as those pics showed

I gotta get more organised... I found the Gripen video.. I hadn't up loaded it yet .
Here it is flown by a really good all around pilot ( Adam ) at ApolloXl field Sunday.
It's got a AEO 8 blade 50mm fan on a stock motor , 40 A esc and a Sky 1000ma 4S 40C li-po.. Here he flys it really nice.

I use Tamiya "paint for plastics, rattle can. on EPS jets. I have not attemped any painting yet. So test it on the inside of the fan hatch, or somewhere, first.

Just put some tape on it, then pull....LOL. (kinda like gals waxing there....)
The "paint" on my Katana is more like a low tack sticker. I put some blue painter's tape on it to mask the tailpipe, and when I removed the tape, the "paint" came with it.

hey Alpea am I hearing this right ... for the AEO 8 blader on 1000mah 4s your getting under 2 minutes of flight before LVC ??

I've got one i was gonna sling in, but with that flight time i might stick with 6blades n 3s

was the battery tired or a second flight?? (fingers crossed)

From what I have seen these 8 bladers are pretty amp hungry. The work great at lower throttle settings but once you open it up they draw a lot! I have the 4750kv 55mm set up in my AMX and now my rebuilt A-4. I use a 3s 25c 1550mah Gens Ace pack with it and get about 3 mins of flight time with mixed flying. The sound is what I like the most about these units!! And there is a set up that works really well! A buddy of mine has the AEO fan with a 4300kv motor and it is pulling only 31amps! And the thing screams! Need to find the motor he is using....

Ray ( G 33) is right on ..Again
We never go to LVC with these planes , it's really hard on the batteries.
That flight was me hand launching , then going for the camera so total flight time was probably around 2 min. The battery probably had another 30 seconds in it .. But it's the fact that the amp draw gets the battery HOTthat keeps me from flying them too long

James has built our HET / Wemo power set up ..I'll get a Watt meter reading later . I really hope I get numbers like Gary posted 21 A ,336 Watts would be awesome. It has the sound of POWER!!!!!

all the guys that use the larger hi blade count fans have found the same........ lots of thrust , not so much speed and much more compatible w/ low kv motors on high cell count. for me it's like the use of 3 or4 blade props vs 2 blade, not very efficient . i will stick w/ the lower blade count and balance , balance, balance.

when i build a jet it's speed i am looking for over thrust, so the high rev setup is key. if u work at it u can get them very turbine sounding but it takes much more work due to the high rpm.

That pretty much sums it up. I personally prefer the turbine-like sound, but there is a cost.... and it's higher amp draws.
