Best place for a diirect replacement? Toysonics? Hobbyb? I try to avoid HK... for these small orders.
I did the same thing last week with my himax. And my F-18 ingested a bug a couple weeks ago but kept on flying without issue. But this past weekend it blew up. So that was 2 fans in 2 weeks. But I have the rotors and housing on order and will have them back up and running...

Also take a look! Got my A-4 put back together and put an AEO 55mm 8 blade with 4750kv. Uses a Gens Ace 3s 25c 1550mah pack. Need to try a 4300kv on 4s though....

Gary @ EffluxRC is getting into the business of providing aftermarket 50mm EDF systems for these jets. He sent a 50mm HET/Wemo Micro fan combo along and we set it up next to one of the bare Katana airframes that we plan to hop up. Custom vinyl graphics from Callie!

Must be nice ! No Katana's or Efflux 50mm available to us Liliputians. A tease, to say the least.

Here is a collection of clips on the 4s Test hops.

This shows some vertical pulls, dead stick passes, full speed passes and slow speed handling. After pushing it vertical out sight, I had to remember to back off early as to not lose sight of it. Yikes.....

Screamer 4s test hop (3 min 46 sec)

Maybe I misread you, but the Wemotec 50mm EDFs and the HET 240-15-6000 motors are in stock.

Thanks Gary,

Jon made it sound like you were just getting into supply replacement edf's & motor combos for the Jpowers series. Good to see you are already there.

The downside is that for the first time, my wife has a hard time keeping up with the screamer on camera when it pulls vertical. Wait till you guys let it rip on 4s, pull rolling vertical. The video I posted just doesn't do it justice. the slow floating is sweet too. What a nice all around package.

Hate2,

The one that spit out the fan blades was the Skyangels 50mm. Ordered replacements from Toysonics. It's only a matter of time when I'll need one for the RAF T-45. Meanwhile, I did bite the bullet on the Phase 3 F-16 $79.00 deal from Hobby-People. Not being a traitor to the JPowers line up, just something different, Shhhh ! Navy guys don't really flip to the dark side but I just love the F-16 .The Phase 3 version has been around for awhile. It's a completely differrent animal. Beer foam, not EPP. No big deal but don't get CA anywhere near it. Best manual I've ever seen. Well built. Nice ARF kit, Just add 2 servos.

After this, I'll wait for the JPowers Katana to become available.

Hawk

Ya mean these?

If you get into modding the Phase 3, F-16, EPS is the best material.
Of course it's not rubbery like EPO, but it takes to sanding and dremal grinding very well. You can "hardcoat" it with WBPU (water based polyurethane) for more resiliency to hangar rash. Or...even glass it with WBPU or Z-Poxy resin.
They are quite repairable with foam safe CA, Gorilla Glue, and epoxy.

This jet is probably the most popular foamy out there.
You can go from mild to wild with the setups. We have 70mm power systems for the HP, F-16 from 750 to 2400W.

One of mine did 173 mph.

Very cool... and it makes alot of sense if u want to spend some extra time..What about oil based polyurethane? will 3 coats make it a lot more crash resistant? I have 3 coats on my skyangle f9f which i have'nt flown yet,but it seems the entire plane is stronger to me...So when u say glass it with polyurethane,What glass do you use...would need some very light cloth...i do not know which is best...but would like to try..thanks

For what its worth with you fliers who have been at it for a while, i loaded my f86 with the aeorc 50 mm (slight incision and foam scrape) and turnigy 30 amp esc. For 38 bucks it really changed the flight experience.
The recent posts and the ever cool wicked setups will be in the near future. My kids need braces and karate uniforms. Maybe I'll sell my whitewater kayaks....
