Will keep you posted joe, not sure when it'll be out yet , im out tomorrow but already got my planes ready for tomorrow plus looks a little windy I prefer calm days for maidens

Looking forward to it though, I mite end up with another yet before that's maidened lol

What's the F8 like? Wanted an A4 but non in stock over here yet

The a-7/8 is a troubled child. The fan is not mounted in an optimum location and the resulting curved duct creates an adverse yaw to the right as power is applied. Tricky to launch, but once on step is flys ok. Stall it, you get a non recoverable flat spin right down to the ground. Perhaps the most challenging of the group to fly.

My next idea is to make another mould using the alginate, then pour in a little resin, and maybe even stuff in a bit of glass cloth, then when its set sand the foam nose down so it fits inside the resin cast, and hopefully that will produce a really tough nose.
However I suspect this will shift any impact forces further down. At least the nose should stay in good shape.

Ok quick question guys. I'm acquiring a 5800kv motor and 2 edf units one with a 5 blade and one with a 6 blade. Which rotor and motor combo would give me the most speed? I have a 50 amp ESC so do you guys think I could still go to 4s or should I stay at 3s using the 5800kv motor in my t45?

anyone running a T-33 on 4S? I have everything all put together, but its coming out nose heavy with a 1000mAH 4S all the way to the back. do you just add some lead to the tail? Right now COG is 43mm from LE

The cg that they say in the manual is actually the rear ward cg. So long as it balances in between the cg that they list and the leading edge of the wing it will be fine. I used a 4s 40c 1000mah in mine and it was perfect even with it being ahead of the cg in the manual.

Finally upgraded the lipos for the A-10. Twin 4300 KV motors, hobbyking 30A ESCs, and finally flown with a 4s 2200 mah pack. performance was great! Lots more vertical pull. Lands a little hotter, but a small price to pay.

With a 5800kv ... I give my opinion which may vary from others - but that's life !!

I would use the 5 blade as the 6 if anything like mine will load up more. The 50A ESC will be ok on the 3S ... but may be pushed to limits with the 4S ... my 5000kv / 6 blade combo really hammers my 4S packs ...

But I would go with the 50A ESC - as I suspect you will not be WOT 100% of the time.

Ok thank you Nigel. No biggie ill put the 6 blade in my mig 15 and the 5800kv in the T45.

My latest sabre has 5800kv with 8 blade fans and 30a Esc using 1300 3s. Havnt a clue how it flys yet have done some mods but just a little windy for my liking to chuck it.

Went to chuck my T45 today 1st time since I repaired after crash last month, just to find the elevator servo is buggered so that annoyed me as I had 10 packs charged for that and the A6 but again the wind stopped me from a maiden with that.

Ok folks, need some input. I'm debating on wether to get the SA F9F or to try the Starmax
64mm version. The price difference is $10 before S&H, and I've had the 64 version before,
unsucessfully. About the only plus currently is that the Starmax has a steerable nose and won't require modification for LG.

my take is the starmax is a far better airframe than the 50mm. the s/max looks better, has no thrust line issues, better power to weight, more good choices for fan upgrades and if u want gear , it's a no brainer. it will also stand a better chance of not being warped out of the box, although the elev is know to be at times. oh and did i mention it looks better.

not to get o/t , but what was the problem the first time around?
