Go to my blog and see my cheap, but good enough, static balancing. As for the housing, remount the motor's 2 screws in a way that centers the motor best. Mount the housing so that the 4 static blades are in a + instead of X direction when looking at the plane level to give the strongest structure from deforming.

I haven't broken a blade since taking that extra set up care.

The Chinese glue used is crap !!

My T45's have all broken at that joint more than once. I would not recc'd strengthening the joint. I did on one of mine and the next break was much worse ...

The small rectangular piece is from the inside the fuse battery bay and has the blue applied. This will be my second airframe that I paint.

The Sabre doesn't look too bad, just might need to dunk it. And the Goshawk
looks like a clean break. A little CA and maybe some toothpicks
as rebar should work.
I'm using spektrum rx/tx.

DX7s AR400 ,

T45 all sorted ready to rock n roll again. Sabre nose has been dunked in hot water and glued back together. Crack on with that later today and finish my Texan also.

Thanks for the info. BTW is that the 50mm Hornet, and if so, did it come
with LG or at least the slots cut out for LG?

To each his/her own. Tried both hand and cat launches, no joy. But I do have
access during most of the year to a paved runway for 50mm and above, and can fly my UMX MiG off of a sidewalk.

Yes, I totally understand the hand launch thing so I dont mean to knock anyone. I know exactly how frustrating it can be. Im just starting my 4th year in the hobby and have countless number of flights probably well into the thousands with these 50mm edf's so I've become very comfortable with the hl.

Some I launch right and some left handed depending on the behavior of the jet that Im launching.

My Grippen was a difficult hand launch so much so that only I could successfully throw it with a 2 handed launch , my right hand pushing from the tail cone. And have somebody else take the Tx till it was flying. So I've decided to make it a pusher with a Suppo 2212 06 22000 Kv and a 6x4 prop. I've made longer gear legs they are spindely and look weird but my goal is to fly it without the 2nd person as a launch pilot. It did take off of asphault O K but on my dirt home field the short gear meant it ingested sand and rocks .

I had the Grippen, but only got two flights out of it. It's the only plane I've ever physically lost. I was trying a Tactic RX with the Any-Link on my DX6i. This was before the AR400 came out and the cheapest Spectrum RX was about $50.
I'm pretty sure that it was the interface, because the SAAB was on it's second
outbound leg and suddenly spun like a football and went out of sight into the woods.

Well as its my birthday coming up in a few wks it's the perfect excuse to buy a new plane

Trouble is I don't k ow which one any ideas?

I quite fancied the A-4F sky hawk but hk only have it in the blue angels colour which is disappointing as i really wanted that one nxt.

I'm also looking at the A-6 intruder and F-16.

Hmmm

Anybody fly the Sukhoi Su-34 Twin 50mm? Curious how it is? Thinking of a dual 4s 10 blade 50mm setup - motors arrive in a few weeks.
