I tapered mine and have zero issues with them. It is hard to see in these pix but I made them just a little longer than the servos and horns. So the tapered part hits the ground before the servos do....

I have the T-33. The plane comes with small banana plugs. Is there really a good reason to change them out for mini deans? I can`t solder worth a darn but am willing to try if it really matters.

no reason unless you have other lipos that have mini deans already that you want to use.

You can make, or get someone local to make an adapter from mini Deans to 2mm banana plugs so you won't have to deal with it all the time. How much amps can mini Deans handle..is it enough for 16-20 amps that folks are pulling?

Ok, where are you guys buying 2 mm male and female plugs from?

Most of my supplies come from HobbyKing...but you'd have to wait 2-3 weeks for normal delivery. I usually anticipate needs and order in advance. Of course that's easy to say as I have enough in my hangar to fly and wait for parts to get others in the air again.

In a pinch, I'm sure your LHS will have it for not too much more.

I've never soldered anything in my life before this hobby...but look at me now...like a pro (almost)

Are the manuals for these airframes available on line anywhere??

Well, this is my first EDF. I have been flying the Parkzone Warbirds (P-51BL, Spitfire, F4F) for quite a while and have many flights under my belt now, so I figured that one of these little jets would be a good starting point for the EDF world. Took extra time on the build, triple checked everything, and overhand tossed it into the dirt. Nose was smashed a bit (not horribly) vert stab came off, and little fom piece holding canopy on broke. After a hot water bath to repair the smashed nose (worked very well BTW), I glued everthing back together and it is ready again. Going with an underhanded toss this time. Hopefully the results will be better!

Sounds like my level of experience and same first toss terror. Click on my blog to see my changed "push" technique and how it has been successful ever since. Good luck...the howl of these EDFs will make you forget prop planes
