took my Mig15 out today for the first flights...always sketchy about the first ones, especially hand launching ! full throttle, took off with no ill effects whatsoever..just a few clicks of some trim and it was flying awesome.

Awesome KC. I've been looking at a mig 15 but just haven't pulled the trigger yet. I've been wanting both the f86 sabre and mig 15 as 50mm. Better hide some money for those. Lol

@KC yea true not a bad idea actually I have spare servos ESC, Rx, all I'm missing is the edf unit and a motor. Maybe by then I'll order one of Dons 6000kv motors or the new 10blade edf units that just came out. They sound awesome going by.

@hate2crash no problem and good luck on the maiden. Hope all goes well. Happy holidays to you too.

I haven't found any place with them available but I'm sure when I get money together to buy the mig 15 and an empty f86 sabre airframe, I'm sure they'll be available. (hopefully) sorry for the confusion whiskey.

Flew this morning and weather was perfect no wind and it was 70 degrees. Man what a great flying plane. I have my throws for my elevators at 100% and my ailerons at 60%. I'm thinking about changing the elevator throws to maybe 60-80% cause 100% is overkill. But for some reason while doing loops it takes it's sweet time coming from the top of the loop to level with the ground. Anyone know why this is or experienced this problem and found a fix??? I have to be about 100- 150ft up and when it's finally level with the ground it's about 15ft off the ground. Scary as heck. Scares me every time! Lol

Banana Hobby F-86 V2 ARF for $65 and free shipping

hey all,
I have never in my life bought an ARF, all the planes I have ever owed I designed and build myself, or built from plans by someone else...till now. Banana Hobby had their 50mm F-86 V2/with gyro on sale a week or so ago for $65 and free shipping, I just had to pick one up for that price. I have to say it was a killer deal
did the maiden today, the first attempt I had the battery wire tucked in too close to the elevator servo and was causing some control issues...I thought the gyro was goofy...set it back down and popped the canopy off and realized the trouble
moved the wire away and tucked it in to a better spot and gave it try #2 with way better results! my youngest daughter shot the maiden vid
I gotta say I love this plane even though its an ARF!
I'll need to do some balance work to the rotor but other than that I am extremely happy with this thing

Joe

Random question can I modify my fuselage to fit a 64mm edf unit for my T45 or the F86 sabre? I may not want to wait and just jump the gun and get the metal 64mm 10blade edf unit from changesun. Since there's not really any hint of a release date.

right off hand I would say no....might be enough room..."might", but the wing loading would probably be not so pretty good. I put out plans not long ago for a real easy to build F-86 from $Tree foam, flies awesome but made for the 35mm SkyAngels fan and motor, but it could easily be enlarged to fit a 64mm unit.

@sloperjoe - What do you think of the gyro setup?
Could you even tell it was there?

I like how it floats in for a landing.

I'm impatiently waiting for them to run the F-22 for that price (or near).

Gyros for the F-22 is a must! The real one can't fly without them! I think I need one of those 3 axis gyros for my F-22 with TV. That way I can harrier without worrying about it tip stalling and entering a death spiral!

Can anyone give me a flight comparison of the Katana and the Stinger?
I'm leaning toward the Stinger purely for size/visibility reasons.
But I know from here the Katana flies sweet.
