Bottom of the page indicates it is 64mm dia.

My error, at the bottom of the page it says 64mm dia is next!

I don't see any mention of the diameter - I can only assume that the model Id having 50 in it may mean it's a 50mm ?

Hi, what kind of numbers are you getting from the 3s and 4s versions? I am get only 15A on the 3s with 170 watts kv 4600.

Thanks, Brian

Air,

A great little 3S lipo for the f-16 that fits like a glove is the Hyperian G3 850mah.

Pat sells them at Niko Hobbies: http://www.nicohobbies.com/store/ind...3162377ca9abec

No cutting of foam required even though the F-16 has probably the smallest cabin in the series.

I ordered the zippy compact 1000mah 25c's about a month ago. They "should" be here this week. I'm planning on mounting them in the aft section of the compartment to try to get 65-70mm CG.

Thanks for the advice!

I got a M5 tap today, and managed to set up the Lander 53mm rotor on the turnigy motor. I actually quite like the Lander design, it has these indexing blobs on the inside of the rotor, so I drilled a couple of holes on the M5 prop adapter so they would fit in. Very useful for inrunners as it prevents the motor turning as you tighten the rotor securing nut.
Tapping the plasitc dome was very easy.

I test fitted the turnigy motor in the lander housing just for fun, fits perfectly, but I wont be using it because of its weight, and because I dont want to ream out foam and limit my choice of fans just yet.

Tomorrow hopefully a test run in the Jpower stock housing to see what it can do.

On my 4S, IIRC, I was getting 29A. This was with the V2. Didn't measure the V1 that burned up.. ESC timing is on low.

I don't think I ever measured any of my 3S alloys. I only measure it if I'm putting together a fan and motor, or if I'm having problems with my set up.
I'm using the HK 3s version which has a 4800kv motor, so it is probably different than your 4600kv version. My ESC timing is on high.

I am getting those exact numbers too 170W, 15A, 11.3V using a nanotech 850mah, mine is the 4600k version also, I got it from RC Castle not HK. Looks like the HK version is hotter, I wish I got that one instead.
However mine is mounted in a JPower-like housing and rotor shaved down to 50mm, so I lost a little fan swept area.
323g static thrust peak.

the new 10 blade rclander 50mm fan, 97 gr, looks very good on paper to me :-)
here http://www.rclander.com/default.aspx...b-b17b80c294f2

I have been thinking of using this one for a phase 3 f-16 or something similar...
with up to 650g / 27A it is not bad for a phase 3 F-16 though :-)

The stock fan has more power than the Rclander. Mine is from Toysonics. You have to on the Mig 15 give it a really good throw to get it launched. I have talked to Tim and he's checking into it. The one from them are all silver.

Thats not what I found. I have 4 stock fans and none of them produced more than 265g static in any airframe, on a 850mah battery. The Lander fan (at least my one) produced 323g and thats even when cut down to 50mm in the stock JPower housing.
I read on HK that they posted some 3s fans with the 4s motor wrongly labelled, and people were struggling to acheive 250g thrust, maybe they sent you one with a 4s motor by accident.

I did a static thrust test of the Turnigy 5000kv inrunner. Sadly, its a bit dissapointing, I had higher hopes. Efficiency is low, the motor is essentially an amp hog. Almost 22A, 238W for only 343g static.
Here is a comparison of the Turnigy motor with the Lander motor. I wouldnt want to eat up 7A more for only 20g more thrust. My search for a high efficiency low weight motor continues.
Its true some things were not constant, different airframes, different ESCs, but still I was expecting more out of the Turnigy.

Lander Rotor, JPower housing/JPower copy housing, Nanotech 3s 850mah 45C, 25A ESC (Phoenix/Turnigy plush)

Motor--------------------Airframe----------------Peak Thrust----------Peak A----Peak V---Peak W----Efficiency
Lander 4600kv-------F35-----------------------323g---------------------14.98------11.36------170-----------1.9g/W
Turnigy 5000kv------F22-----------------------343g---------------------21.77------10.96-------238----------1.44g/W

Turnigy 5000kv Lander rotor F22 airframe (0 min 44 sec)
