F3B Speed Cup!
Come join us for one of “many to come” F3B Speed Cups in Poway. ALL are welcome!
If your new or old we what you to come and join us. If you need help we are here to help. If you don’t need help…. We won’t help you! Our intention is to work the 4 Minute clock as in a real F3B event. We hope we can all better improve our flying skills, air reading abilities and learn not only as individuals but also as a community. It’s seems we often don’t’ know which launch to take, when to launch, when to relaunch, to turn out, to turn in, to hook or not to hook, what size line, what size drum……. We all can grow in our knowledge and abilities as the community works together and communicates what is working and what’s not. Come and be a part of the growing SoCal F3B gang! The Need for Speed!
We will keep real scores and post the results. Our plan is to do this once each month coming into the New Year. We want everyone to bring their own equipment but we are expecting everyone to share. That means “Community Winches” for all to use. If you don’t have winches and line….. Come anyway! Donate line $’s to those that have the equipment. We want all who have interest in F3B to come join us. If you can’t afford to give line donations at this time…. Come anyway! We want you!
Date: This Sunday December 5th
Location: Poway Field
Pilots meeting: 8:45am
Start time: 9:00am (be ready for round one and ready to fly) Working time starts at 9:00 sharp!!!
Number of rounds: Last round in progress at 3:00
Cost: FREE!!!! (You can’t beat that!)
We will take a 30 minute lunch break.
We will take breaks to fix line breaks.
This being the first of more to come Dave and I will be trying different things to direct the flow and obligations we will have as pilots. Examples of these duties are; working base B, shagin chutes, fixing line breaks, working the turn arounds, working base A, timing, ect, ect, ect.
So Dave and I will be doing our best to keep the flow so we can be as productive as possible. We have some ideas but with trial and error we should be able to get more productive as we go. Please be patient with us!!! Your suggestions are more than welcome but for us to be effective we need one captain…. Our 2 in our case! Run your thoughts by Dave and me and let us make the final call after that. It will surely be a learning process for us all…. Let’s have fun doing it and turn this thing into a real event over time!
