Seriously, it is a lovely build of an undermodeled plane.

I very much appreciate the positive comments! But, with all the working scale mechanisms, your Dayton Wright racer is clearly the pick of the litter--and an excellent choice from the pages of aviation history.

Wow, certainly some seriously well done conversions and scratch builds. Thanks again John. Sure was fun.

I finally captured the SE5 on Video. After another repair I think the weight crept up and the CG slid back a bit. But it flies. I am going to upgrade the power system, and add some more details in the future. But for now this is all I got. I learned a bunch and had a great time.

Thanks again

Beautiful models, all! Voting is definitely going to be tough.

Regrettably, I must throw in the towel, and will finish my Stahl Hurricane later this summer...

Really great entries - Looking forward to a tight finish.

My Sterling Musso Racer has also been pushed back to a Late summer finish.

Best,
Brent

Guys ,

I fully understand ! Things have been extrememly busy for me and have had zero modeling time in months . The best prize is your finished model ( even if it is late )

Hello All:

Congrats to all on the funbuild 3. There were several outstanding projects. It was fun to watch the entries unfold. Big congrats to Bill and Glenn on your victories. Thanks to Jfrost for organizing and making this a fun contest once again.

Alex

P.S. I am sorry I never completed let alone started my Hannover project for FB 3. I had every intention of doing so, but I have had a number of issues and set backs this year that got in the way of my free time. I hope to start it soon if not/ get something ready for FB 4.

Thanks for voting for my model guys!
I really appreciate your support.
I had second thoughts about building this one thinking a Stuka might not be a popular subject.

It turned out to be a nice flying little model despite the concerns it would be underpowered.
Last Sunday was doing simulated bombing dives and even tossed in a couple of loops. Still haven't tried a roll, yet...

Thanks again John for putting on another fun build and I'm looking forward to the next one. Have to start gathering supplies soon, before you know it it'll be time to start the next one....

Congrats Glenn.

I thought this was also one of the lovely builds of the contest. The 36" Aeronca C3 from a Sterling Kit by crawlspace. I was just looking through FM which just came in the mail today. This picture below looked very familiar, so I looked it up here and it is the same model. Pat Tritle has it featured in his column:

Thanks Alex,

I know all to well of those issues and setbacks . Still waiting for a free vacation day here to "squeez in " some modeling time . Take care and hope to see you next year for the "Multi-Engine" Funbuild

Cheers,
-John

I've been following the builds (in between moving and "attempting" to get organized, lol).
Everyone did a great job on some real cool subjects.
Hopefully I will get my new shop in order by building season and get some stuff finished.

Congratulations Glenn and Bill, both great builds and well deserving winners.

Thank you Bill for the honorable mention, I had a great time building it and I'm glad you liked it.

Thank you again John for giving us all an excuse to build and share.

See you all on the next one!

I'd like to offer my congrats to all you guys who took the time to do this build and especially to those of you who used my kits. Its really something to see when everything comes together. I'm amazed at the level of craftmanship that you guys put into these and I can honestly tell you, I really appreciate your efforts. Well done Gentlemen!!
