I am using some SKY LIPO "ULTIMATE CHARGE SERIES" 1300mah-3S-40C batteries and the max charge rate is NOT anywhere to be found on the battery labels at all.

Where on their site do you get 3C max charge rate?

It was stated in a video that HobbyPartz put out about Sky Lipos. I think it is on their site under the Sky Lipo section.

I always charge them at 2C. They stay cool.

I saw the video (in the first post) and am thinking that a 2C rate (you suggested) may be no problem, but..

Don't they need to be more concerned about safety and documentation?

Perhaps post max charge rates on their website for each and every SKY LIPO size?

I don't think that every size can be safely charged at 3C rates...

And are these batteries lacking individual labeling to indicate "safe to charge" max rates?

Seems as if, so far, there have been no reports of customers that charge at the 3C rate.

I Love Sky Lipo packs.
We know that if we use the correct C rate in the pack, it will hold the V under load, that means that you will have "more power" in your motor (isn't really more power, is just that the V isn't going down like when you use the wrong C rate for your plane).
I have 20c, 25c and 40c packs. If I use the 20c pack on a plane that I should use 25c I can feel that the plane is under powered and the Battery gets really hot trying to deliver the juice that the motor is pulling (the V isn't been holded), if I use the 25c pack (The right rate for that particular plane) you can feel the difference, it just rocks! but if I use the 40c rate pack (Sky lipo) nothing happens, I mean, there is no difference between the 25c and the 40c, both are just great. In my personal experience, my set up won't take more from my pack just because the C rate is higher, my set up will just use what it needs. Again, this is just my personal opinion based on what i have tried.

Now, what I can say makes a big difference is the metal plates on the Sky lipo batteries, they really work. The packs don't get that hot as the others and the price is really good. I would never buy other brand again!!!!

Received two of the new Sky Lipos today. I ordered a 40C 4S 2200 for my Air Field F-4 and a 30C 4S 1000 for my T-33. I am very impressed with both. The T-33 topped out at 82 mph with the same voltage from another company. With the Sky Lipo it averaged 92 mph and did not seem to get hot. The 40C on the F-4 blew me away. With a 30C 2200 Blue I was able to get to max out at 71 mph and hand launching it was a disaster waiting to happen. With the 40C the jet just flew right out of my hands! The top speed was 88.2 mph! All that said, neither jet has the stock gear and are set up for running a four cell set up. From now on I will only buy Sky Lipos!!! What a great buy!!

What is the overall pack internal resistance for the 77P-SL3300-6S1P-30C-6666? Also when will you get 98P-25C-3300-6S1P back in stock?

Thanks

Feliperc, this may seem like a stupid question, but how do you know what the correct C rating is for your setup? For instance I have a Monster Power 25 with a 60A ESC, 60A cause that's what I had on my shelf. I think I have a 12x8 prop on the thing. Works great with a 4 cell 2200 (can't remember the C as I'm at work).

Thanks,
David

Lipo Connections

Hey, just a thought after reading a previous post. Why don't battery mfg's add a designation to their batteries for different types of connectors? For instance, I'm using Deans, sure would be nice. I guess it would make stocking them more difficult then. Hmmm... What about short leads on the batteries then giving the choice of adapters?

Any thoughts?
