Not being able to afford a new plane I dug out my dymond tiger moth that I crashed 3 an 1/2 years ago.
And have decided to rebuild her.
I don't know if she still qualifies because of the colour scheme but here's some pic's of before and the rebuild process

Nice work. I've been out doing the Thanksgiving rounds for the last 10 days and will get back to my N-28 build in a bit. I started it ( the build) in the other thread on WW I thread but after a bit of flack over there I started this thread. Hope to see a bunch of interest and ideas expressed here.

Thanks, when I'm done with moving house and have built my (dream) workshop , I'll finish this one (and 4 others ! ) that have been on hold all year long.I think having a open thread like this is a top idea , where you can drop in and post information on your current ww 1 project. My computer skills are a bit slim so doing a full build thread is more work than I care to do , particularly if it stops me from building ! more often than not most build threads seam to stall out for long periods ( like mine would have if I had done one !!) or stop altogether , so doing it this way should keep the thread rolling along

My Taube

I have just about finished my 1914 Taube. The build is documented on this forum under Jeannin Stahltaube. Does pre WW1 count? LOL

I started my Balsa USA N-28 build here. I also did some comparison between the B USA kit and the Proctor kit.

Rather than moving all the info on the build I'll just continue on here. If you have any questions or comments I'd be glad to hear them.

Started on the fuse this morning. No major issues just a lot of care in making all the joints fit properly. I might do a few gussets here and there as I see fit. Might get the second fuse side completed this afternoon. I have a few helicopter repairs to deal with for the LHS to get done today. Once again I must compliment Balsa USA on the wood selection for this kit.

Just to give others a hint of what my Taube looks like here is a picture of it assembled. I started with a 26 year old Nick Ziroli Taube kit. Power is an OS FS91 SII-P swinging a 15 x 6 prop. I am 5 ft 8 in, the Taube is 7 ft 4 in.

It is for Control LIne Sport Scale.

See, the one thing (the only thing) I don't like about the Balsa USA Kits is the attachment of the lower wing to the fuselage.
On my as yet unbuilt Pup for instance, it means that the scale outline is not what it should be...
I guess though, that if you want scale 100% then you have to build from scratch.

Cheers,

Hugh
