There will be no glow conversion kit for this model. I didn't want to compromise the lightweight construction in order to make the airframe capable of handling a glow engine.
It can be done but would require some work on the part of the buyer. 4S set-ups should work fine. Just understand that with 4S you are going to probably be pulling quite a bit more Amps and the size battery you might need to use to get acceptable flight times may negate any weight savings. The 6S set-up I have been running uses a 15x6 XOAR and 3000 and 3300 mah packs. I get 6 minute flights with this set-up pulling 53 Amps. Most 4S set-ups are going to pull in excess of 70 Amps so I'd expect flight times with 3000-3300 4S set-ups to be considerably less. This of course depends on throttle usage, wind, batteries and other factors. |

I prefer 2 x 3s-3000 to lower the amp draw and good flight time.
Also have several 4s-2200 nano tech 25c that I use on the Slick 51". I could add 2s-2200 nano tech to make 6s-2200. Very light but quite short flight time. That 6s setup is what I will use for Slick 59" / SC 57". Rimfire .55 (480 kv) with Xoar 15x7 |

extreme flight convert
Well I did it.. It wasn't intentional, but I sold every balsa plane I owen, except my EF 48" Edge, and 48" MXS.. Now I have my sights set on this beautiful Bird. I didn't plan it, but I'm hooked on EF. I really want a blue, and yellow 58" extra if they come back in stock?
Chris, Does it look like you'll be getting any Blue/yellow 58" Extra's, any time soon? |
