HELLO!! Nice touch with the checkerboard on the wingtips. I like that.... and finishing off the inside of the SFG with the checkboard may look nicer still. I may need a blue one after all, considering the possible decal options. Those are nice graphics too.

Maybe an esc malfunction such as the bec not working for a few seconds? It sounds like the receiver was functioning through the SPC port since the voltage reading was ok, unfortunately this only powers the receiver and not the servo's. Maybe a bad connection with the esc, or the batt connection. Possibly a bad solder joint or some corrosion in the esc connection.

Sounds like you lost bind. Most ESC's I know of will sense no signal from the Rx and shut down as a safety precaution. Then as the Tx and Rx tried to join hands again, the power came back on, but too late. The only thing is, the generally don't come back until power is turned off and on again, like a reboot.

In the big planes we have, I use the Spektrum 9100 with redundant batteries and three satellites and read all fades and lock out with a logger after all flights to make sure the satellites are in the best location possible. Electric motors, gas engines, carbon fiber construction, carbon fiber props, large batteries... you never know what is going to kill a signal sometimes.

We lost a 25% Extra on a gas engine just 53 seconds into a maiden because of a lost signal that recovered about eight feet off the deck, but about 40 feet too late.

Has anyone yet heard of signal issues with Futaba 8fg as yet?

Keep hearing about other systems malfunctioning from time to time, but not heard much about the Futaba?

Futaba guys are very quiet.

I've only seen one Futaba-guided plane fly away into the wild blue yonder while the pilot threw the sticks around praying for some miracle, and that was two years ago. With that said, we have a brand new 8 channel Futaba and never use it.

Yup. Here's one, off a quick search.
They all are fragile electronics, made and programmed by humans, and subject to fail.
Here's another one. None are immune.
