Sweet, ive been looking at 500's latly but the cost always blows out on me. Walkera might just fix the cost problem. I'll be watching this birds progress. I wonder how far off it is from release.

But something not right as they only use 315mm blade for 500 size heli?

Also it uses 11.1v 1200maH LiPo only?

I hope it costs more than I'm willing to pay.. I don't need a bigger heli.. I don't care how nice it looks.. I don't need this..... Help me please.... I bet it will need the 2801 V3...

I'm sure they messed up the dimensions. The main rotor diameter they list is 970mm, that would mean the main blade holders plus the center block would be 340mm, which of course they can't be. They probably meant 415mm for the blades which would give 830mm so the center would only be 140mm (which is still kind of high).

The suggested battery might work if there was two, which many 500's are designed for, but 1200mah is a bit low.

You're likely screwed, it should cost no more than $400 including the 2801 looking at the V450D01 costing only a little over $300...

I have safety concern, thus this guy won't poison me... I only fly 250 or smaller sized heli

I agree on the safety the way I fly a mSR is dangerous.. Heck I have black and blue marks all over me from the T Rex 250 in my Phoenix hitting me all the time. Talk about a realistic simulator...

This is just the flybarless version of their original 500 called the Enerco which was realeased over a year ago (see pics in my blog). It has the same canopy design and the best I can tell only the flybarless part is the difference. Its a 5-6 cell heli using the standard 425mm blades. My Enerco flew very stable and was built with solid parts but was overpriced considering most in the 500 market dont buy RTF helis and already own most of the electronics already. The Enerco RTF with 2801 TX and ally case (no battery or charger) sold for over $800.00 when it was released the first go round so I wouldnt expect much better here.

Agreed, the v450 costs $350 from most places so the V500 would probably cost right around $400. Also, if you're talking about the 'retail price" before the discount then those are always inflated. xheli does that a lot... regular price $800 on sale now for $500... ya right...

No, Im telling you guys the price I PAID was almost $800.00 for the Enerco RTF combo over a year ago and Im personal freinds with a Walkera dealer so Im able to get the best pricing on these helis as well as know the dealer cost on them. Im not just "guessing" here about this or giving my opinion or talking out of my like happens so much here when new helis are being released .........Im speaking from personal experience as one of the rare owners of the Enerco. Walkera will charge much more than $400.00 for this heli unless they sell it as a bare bones RX ready which they never do.
The Enerco could be found last year in a few places as a bare bones kit with motor and ESC for $539.00, so unless they have learned their lesson (which they rarely do) this one will be the same or more with the newer FBL features, and they will most likely only sell it RTF with the 2801 Pro no matter if you already own the 2801 now or not. I doubt you will find one sold as a BNF unless a vendor splits the RTF kits and sells things seperately.

This is the "discounted" price the Enerco is being sold at today since most of the few dealers that have them cant get rid of them. I belive the released price was originally $799.00-$849.00 range but most have dropped them some to try and clear them. They are stuck though because the dealer cost on this heli was only about $125.00 less than retail and they can never sell them low enough to get rid of them without losing money. Shipping cost on a RTF 500 in a huge ally case was another limiting factor, as it can cost an additional $80+ just to ship it, so this heli just didnt really appeal to anyone and Walkera is out of their league in this class of heli.

That is just the heli kit, not a full RTF built heli with computer TX so you are not comparing apples to apples, but I get your point and this is why Walkera will never compete in the heli size market. 500 fliers dont buy or need RTF helis

Ok, xrayted, I believe that you actually paid that for the emerco... but there is no doubting the fact that the V450D01 w/ 2801Pro is selling for $350 at most etailers. I can't see them doubling the price on the 500 to $700 especially when you can buy a 500 3G ESP for only $780.

I think walkera has to know they won't compete in the 500 size market in that price range. The V450D01 RTF w/ 2801pro at $350 is very competitive for what you get but many will choose a trex clone for a similar price to it. You can put a RTF FBL 500 trex clone together for less than $600.

I know what your saying makes sense and that is exactly why Walkera typically wont do it. They priced the Enerco at a very high price despite other more well known models selling easily for less, they have a coax that prices at over $500 despite being an un tested new way to actually power a coax and the list of their crazy methods has been the thing of discussion for a few years now.
They dont get it and they dont think like the average company does. They will price that heli RTF in the $550-$700 range at first and they wont sell any better than the Enerco did and you wont find hardly anyone carrying the heli because of the high price. Then you will see them creep slowly down to the $400-$500 range to get rid of them which will still be too high.....mark my word on it
Walkera is way out of their league in this heli class and has no idea how to compete in it. They do much better in the micro market and should stay clear of this heli class.
