I have had many of you guys ask for 70mm setups and instead of reinventing the wheel on 70mm I have decided to carry the HET 2w-18 motor and the HET 6904 70mm fan unit. I also plan on getting a shipment of Wemotec 480 Mini fan pro fan units in stock as well as it is a good setup for the 2W-18 motor.
I also received a shipment of HET 6404 fan units as well. Don |

Yes it was the HET 6404 fan unit. I have since adjusted the cost to do those fans accordingly.

Here is how I would try and answer that question...I have had both fans, with high and very high powered setups. HET fans kick butt up to a point, but as you approach very high powered setups, Wemos will start to kick in and out push a HET. Both are great fans....over 2000watts I would run Wemo, under, HET

Here is the funny thing....if its 64mm and under, I have to ask Don, he has way more experience with those then I do.... he is helping me setup my Shark, and it was doing 90mph before with one of his setups 3 years ago, I imagine it will hit over 100mph now with 64mm HET setup.

My 70mm experience is very limited. I do have a shipment of Wemotec 70mm fans due in a few days and my understanding is that the 2W-18 and Wemotec on 4S is a very nice 70mm setup about 800 watts. I am not looking to be selling 1500-2000W 70mm EDFs setups, there are those who do already, I was just adding in some popular 70mm stuff to my website inventory as people have been asking for upgrades over stock 70mm setups and the 2W-18 Wemo setup I think will be a decent choice.

It will be a very light, but strong and efficeint setup....and that is what majority of people like. There are only a few of us crazy people that like insane speeds, but that comes at a much higher price and can be hard on electronics. My VASA F-5 flew on Dons BI3600 in 70mm Wemo fan.It was a light setup on 4s 3300 but flew at 130mph plus.... I think this new setup will do the same if not just a tad more. It would be a nice upgrade for Habu 2 for starters....

The 2W-18 is 3600KV so that was why I liked it since the BI3600 was the same KV.

It should RIP around 70amps or so on a 3300 pack if you think the motor can take it? Thanks! |
