Starting to paint. Love this bird.

Maiden flight was aborted today because the plastic connectors that rotate the main retracts stripped/broke in half.
anyone know where to get those pieces?

What kind of junk does nitroplanes sell?....i just got my replacement retracts...2 of the 3 quit working....again....i am done....never again will i buy a plane loaded with that junk again.....love the airframes but will not waste my time.....i never even got to see the retracts cycle in the air on this bird....

is ur esc < 5.5 volts?

I imagine he is using the stock ESC/BEC ... ?

The retracts have an sensing circuit to stop the motor if something is blocking the plate on the actuaing screw. Do you hear any sounds when you attempt to activate the retracts, either up or down? If so, maybe open up the servo an see if something is catching in there. Nothing to lose, since you already have your original servos and replacements. I had a similar issue with one that came with a Freewing Su-35 jet, and it's working fine now.

Well i got all my servos. Just need to get my power system tested then everything is going together! Hopefully get to maiden in the next couple weeks.

Did a little experiment with these junk retracts to see what the heck is going on....
pulled one apart.... seems that the bar that goes up and down the jackscrew is getting hung up sometimes on maybe a bad thread or something.... i worked it back and forth with my fingers until it got smooth... put some highspeed bearing grease on it...so far so good... but i am not using them anyway.... just wanted to see why they would hang up... so 2 out of the 3 replacements work but the one has a bad motor or something

i have two options to go with on hand now. I really wanted to use the CS so i bought that fan ahead of time. But then i realized i would have to balance it and i am no good at that. So i god a used BL15 3200 w/ Delta V fan already balance. Then i picked up a HK 2855 2100 kv to test on the CS. I have an 80amp E-Flite Pro esc and would prefer to run on 4s.

I am leaving the nose cone off for now. b/c it is hollow i am gonna keep it off until i balance it, if i need more nose weight i can add epoxy to the nose cone then attach it permanently.
