JK about your five cell mishap I wonder if it over revved because of no load.

That makes a lot of sense! Maybe I will try again... right now I am concerned that my motor is now unbalanced

Pulled my fan assembly out today and discovered that the spinner cap and screw are causing most of the vibration. After playing with adding weight its better. How important is the spinner cap? I get less vibration with it removed.

I am using the sapac mb-1 and sapac fan... I put it in the stock housing so that I didn't have to carve out any foam... but I screwed the housing into the balsa plywood and reinforced it with a few drops of CA.

JK it sounds and performs great!! Nice job. Changed out the collet and just put a plastic cover on the fan hub much smoother now. After seeing your video I'm double glad I ordered that sapac MB1 combo. My cyclone motor is not butter smooth either. Did you have to balance the fan or anything or did it run that smooth out of the box? I'm sure there's a good reason for the spinner cone and aluminum screw holding it in place but with this combo it's so much smoother without out I just have to try it. Thanks for the great video.

Karl

How big is the battery, mah and c rating? And while I'm picking your brain clean how big is the esc?!!!

Thanks JK, I'm putting an order in. I fly with no landing gear and no brass reinforcment and your plane is still way out performing mine!! Wish I had spoke with you before I ordered the other stuff!! My only worry now is the Hobby Dream's Sapac 3200KV won't be exactly the same as the MB1 all the specs are the same but my luck usually runs in the other direction!! They don't call it an MB1 but the numbers match! Flew mine with no spinner cap screw at lunch sounds much better but still not as good as yours, I think its that cyclone motor.
Thanks again,
Karl

Hey how many amps are you seeing? and what size esc?

jk,

That sounds so sweeeet! Ive yet to order one of these F-18 but it is on my wish list. I have two MB1 fan/motor combos on the way already, one for my Meteor and the other for my future F-18.

Im using Sky Lipo 5S 4000 30c batteries in my Meteor so Im hopeing these will fit in the F-18 as well.
